Free Legal Advice UK are in full support of the McCann family as they go through this terrible ordeal, hence why we have placed this banner at the top of every page on our website.

Free Legal Advice UK is owned and run by volunteers.  No-one here earns any money from what we do and all donations given to us are put towards keeping this service open, running and free-to-use.

We provide legal advice for free to anyone and everyone in the UK.  Totally, utterly and completely free -- we have no plans, no ideas and no reasons to charge for legal advice.

We give out legal advice for free because of a simple fact; What is the point in charging people for it?  If you can't afford legal advice from other legal companies that would normally charge you, we'll give it to you for free or if you can afford legal advice from a legal company but you don't feel that you should have to pay for it, then we will still give you legal advice for free.

We do not need to know your reason(s) for coming to us at all!  We don't need to know if you can't afford legal advice from a company that wants to charge you for it, nor do we need to know if you can afford it but don't believe it's worth paying for.

Of course, we shall always try to help you as best as we can, but please remember we are only a small, non-profit organisation.  We do not receive any funding from anywhere except kind donations.  Our volunteers are always tested on their legal knowledge before they are allowed to give out legal advice, although some have relevant legal qualifications, others just know a lot about the UK legal system but all of them have been carefully selected and checked before being allowed to provide legal advice.  All of our volunteers go through criminal record checks and background checks, therefore we do not knowingly hire criminals or anyone knowingly involved with criminals.  We also carry out regular spot checks on their criminal records, backgrounds and legal knowledge to make sure they have not committed any crimes, they aren't involved with criminals and also still know what they need to know.

But please still remember that we are only a small organisation, we receive no funding at all, the only money we ever have is from donations or payments for links and all of this money goes directly towards allowing us to keep running and providing this free service.  Our staff, our accountant and even our webmaster are all working for free!  Whilst some of our staff have other jobs, some don't, some just volunteer with us in their spare time, but others are here all the time.

We really honestly do value every single donation we receive, even the small donations and so whatever amount you donate, we will genuinely appreciate it.  All donations will be used by us only to allow us to stay open and keep this invaluable service running.  Without your kind donations, we really could not exist and we could not give out legal advice for free.
