What
sort of venues are FreeFall suitable for?
FreeFall
are a very versatile band when it comes to the different environments we
can play in. We've played at pubs, formal events, parties, festivals - we're
even happy to mellow out with background music. Whatever you're considering us
for, we're more than happy to be involved as we rarely turn a gig down.
Do
FreeFall require any sort of amplification?
Unfortunately, we do not own
a PA - however, it is by no means necessary for every gig. We know their
expensive just as well as you. In aid of that, the band have a set of extremely
heavy (and therefore loud) guitar and bass amps - and you'd be surprised how
easily brass cuts through. Speaking in general terms, for events such as pub
gigs and small parties we do not need a PA. However, if you're interested in
booking FreeFall for a larger event - you'd definitely get the best out of us
with some sort of PA system. Otherwise things can get quite imbalanced.
How
much are you guys going to cost me?
Payment
is almost always case sensitive. As always, travel is the biggest problem; fuel
prices are ridiculous and renting out mini-vans are an expensive necessity.
Standard fee is £120 + travel, but that could always rise depending on other
factors such as set duration and location. If you're trying to book us for a good cause (a
charity event) then forget all of the above. But otherwise, that's the region
you're looking... at unless you’re a seriously good negotiator.
How
much notice do you guys needs?
Spontaneous gigging is always good fun, but it's not guaranteed to come together. We all have very annoying yet very real job and work commitments, so it’s best to give us as much notice as possible. Please don't phone us up with a vague idea of when you'd like us to play, because we can't promise anything without a solid-date and a good amount of notice. Obviously, we'll always make the effort, but sometimes it can be difficult.
So how do I get in contact with you?
It's best to contact us through our email
(freefallgigs@gmail.com) to ensure we remember everything you tell us. But if
you'd prefer to speak to us directly, it's best to contact our drummer Richard
on 01970 871964. Failing that, we seem to be quite well geographically situated
around the region; so Richard covers Borth, if you're in Aberystwyth or
Llanbadarn you can talk to Tom or Russ, if you're in Mach Fred is your man and if
you live in the middle of nowhere, you'll have something in common with Sam and
Hugh.
