FreeFall had a great time at the Square Festival in Borth this weekend - the sun was out, people were present, the Sunshine Mainstage was incredible and our new tunes "Direction of Travel" and "Fire Place" went down very well. It was probably slightly unfortunate that Fred, Huw and Russ had to instantly leg it down to Inca's stage for their second lengthy performance of the day. But they didn't show any signs of fatigue and Inca's set was excellent, so ah well. Expect pics and YouTube vids to arise soon, we also had our entire set was filmed by a professional camera man - so that may become available as well! In other news, we were offered a slot at Blue Rock (http://www.celticbluerock.org.uk/) so pending confirmation we'll also be playing there next weekend (August 1st). As for our new set, we're currently a little to busy gigging to serious work on anything. But by late summer we'll hopefully have added at least four or five more tracks to our catalogue.
Thanks for being there if you saw our slot at the Square Fest and shout out to Chris Dare for giving us the oppertunity to play on the mainstage!
Edit - FreeFall will be playing at Blue Rock at 7pm on Friday!
FreeFall performed at a wedding a couple of weeks ago where we were lucky enough to meet producer of the Foo Fighter’s latest album, Gil Norton! The gig went very well and we later stumbled into a video diary room where we a legendary A Cappella of Pachobell’s Canon. Hopefully one day we’ll be re-united with that footage. Anyway, in other news, Richard entered us into Britain’s Got Talent a very long time ago without telling us. It just so happens that we’ve been invited down for the first auditions. It’s not televised, but it could be quite fun. FreeFall are off to Cardiff once again, I guess. The band have also been discussing the album. We’re waiting until January to record because we’ll all have better equipment by then. It also gives us some time to refine a few tunes. Mr Drydon - producer of our live demo has agreed to mix this one down too! We’ll also sorting out CD production at the moment. Cases, artwork. All that stuff. Cheers, Tom of FreeFall
Not much has been happening with FreeFall lately. We've only just got back to school after a bit of a break but we'll probably start writting again soon. We've got our first gig in ages next week, which we're looking forward to. In other random news, we're going to attempt a cover of Jimi Hedrix's "The Wind Cries Mary" whith brass doing the vocal parts. Everyone in FreeFall seems to be able to play drums now. Except for Tom. But he and Sam are taking up the saxaphone, so that's ok. Erm, and we've released new recordings from our summer session. On our MySpace there are three tracks - "Buenos Dias, Bouncing to Battle and Upside Down Chicken Grinder" and on our Bebo there is a new "Lock In" and "Fred's Attic".
