![]() | Richard is usually the tiresome organizer behind anything and everything related to FreeFall. He is along with Tom the eldest band member and therefore has witnessed all of the different genres we‘ve attempted, all the horrible early gigs we did and every single departed band member with their very separate ideas. Unlucky really… at least he’s good at drums. |
![]() | Tom is the other longest serving band member, changed his style quite a bit since the days of seven stringed guitars and distortion - he still owns and uses one, just never bothers to put on the extra string. Prefers his funk, rock and jazz these days, also every now and then injects some Spanish/Latin flavours into the band using his acoustic. |
![]() | Sam joined the band over five years ago, after quite a few other ins and outs. He was still however the first bass guitarist and his addition made a huge difference to our sound and structure. Sam has written a few tunes like most other band members and also likes his solo work. Not a practice goes by when he doesn't attempt to pitch in Stu Hamn's bass solo. |
![]() | Trombonist Russell was the next musician to join FreeFall and the band has never been the same since - in a good way. He kick started our departure from rock to explore more laid back styles such as jazz and funk. Russell is one of the main contributors in terms of song writing and also gives singing a go when the mood suits it - Moob Song usually. |
![]() | Hugh joined FreeFall not too soon after Russell’s arrival. His excellent trumpet work complemented Russell's trombone playing perfectly and added some much needed depth and thickness to the brass sound. We wish he’d take centre stage more often! Every now and then he’ll agree to whip out a solo in Funky Monkey or Appian Way mind you. |
![]() | Fred - weird, wacky, wonderful. There’s not much you can say about this guy. Just got to let him get on… with whatever it is that he does. Fred’s percussion input is like the cherry on top of the cake. And you never now what sort of percussive surprise he’ll pull out at a gig - my personal favorite were the chimes in the Coops. We will miss Fred's antics (and practices in his attic) when he leaves for London at the end of the summer. |
