For those who do not know, Congressman Tom Tancredo has become known nation-wide for his tough policies on immigration. He also has many other conservative views right in step with my own paradigm. He has just formed an exploratory committee to begin a run for the White Houe. I'm proud to endorse him as a candidate for the presidency. I just sent the Congressman the message below.
To Whom It May Concern,
I have just recently heard of Congressman Tancredo's formation of an exploratory committee, marking the beginning of his attempt at a run for the White House. This has overjoyed me. Finally we have a Republican worth electing as the head of our wonderful government!
Even though I do not hail from the Congressman's district, or even his state, I have been a strong supporter of his policies for quite some time. It makes me happy to know he is running for the nation's highest office.
Best wishes to The Honorable Tom Tancredo is his run for the presidency, I know he'll always get my vote.
Sincerely,
Benjamin Amis (R-KY)

I've sent a letter to our Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who is set to take office tomorrow as the first female Speaker of the House in United States history. I await a reply from the office of the Congresswoman.
Speaker-designate Pelosi is not prepared to defend this country. She, and many democrats, are not able to assure us this country will be safe. If troops return home, we only choose to go on the defensive, squatting down and waiting for them to come to us. Last time they did, the most destructive attack on American soil claimed thousands of lives on 9/11. Currently, we have terrorists on the defensive, and with the execution of Hussein, we send a message to dictators in places like Iran and North Korea, that they should work with us diplomatically through world bodies such as the U.N., or separately at our own bargaining table, or they may very well face the same fate of the former Iraqi President.
We must "stay the course" in Iraq. This does not mean blindly following the same tactics, but staying focused on the goal of an independent democracy in the Middle East. This actively involves the transformation of our strategy to achieve the goal in our sights. We still have troops in Japan, Germany, and many other countries that we have fought with many decades ago, still assisting them as needed. The President said in the beginning this would be a long process, have we forgotten that?
Many Iraqis are happy with their new nation. Granted, the sectarian mess is a problem that has existed for many years, and will not die down for a very long time, if ever. Sunnis, Shi'as, and Kurds will most likely always be at each others' throats in some form or another. Our goal is to have them arguing with words in the chambers of Parliament, not blowing each other up with IEDs.
These people are terrorists. All terrorism in and from the MidEast is sectarian. All of it from sects of Islam which claim to be from God. I doubt we can ever silence them, but they are in the minority, and by assisting the people who are willing to allow us, we can turn the tides on them, and send them into hiding if nothing else.
Republicans know this. It is the reason why we have the Department of Homeland Security, which Speaker-designate Pelosi voted against, and the PATRIOT Act, which the Congresswoman also voted against. These things are meant to help us. Wire tapping to listen for terrorists. Who cares if the government picks up your call to Grandma from a payphone in Paris? Wouldn't you rather let them listen to what happened to you at Notre Dame and know that Grandma is safe back at home? America has always pioneered ideas, from our very inception, we were test driving a new system of government. Let's pave the way now, and along with our allies, rid the world of these awful murderers.
