The earliest thanks must, of course go to family, near and far for filling in and returning handwritten questionnaires and answering impertinent questions put to them by an inquisitive teenager many moons ago. Without the basic knowledge given to me then my tree wouldn't have grown into what it is today.
Thanks also to the numerous registrars and deputy registrars who have given their time freely searching for register entries which very often didn't even exist in their records and have helped no end.
And of course, thanks to the whole network of family tree researchers online, both amateurs and professionals who have made an enormous amount of information available to any one who cares enough to look for it.
Thanks.
There is a large amount of my tree which simply wouldn't be there is it hadn't been for the help and research of others and the information which was freely exchanged. Although it is almost impossible to list them all here, I'll have a good go, and appologies to anyone I miss out.
For the main branch of my tree, the Free Family, I had help from; Sandra Bell, Teresa Berrill, Shirley Clarke, Debbie Derrek, David Free, Noel Free, Diane Fuller, Ted Thompson, Annette Vickery, Karen Whiting, and Janet Young.
The Battersby branch has had help from; Linda Kirby.
The Butler and Archer branches, were helped along by; Robyn Buckle, Terence Orton , and Ian Shave.
Help on the Collett branch came from; Peter Collett, and Graham Wheatley.
Help on the Cutter and Giles branches came from; Chris Brabyn, Dorothy Brown, Jane Chapman, Megan Crawford, Denise Dickman, David Lawson, Bernise Neal, Janet Rodway, Cynthia Seymour, Ceri Stevens, Jane Thomas, and Suzanne Townsend.
On the Jackson branch I had help from; Kay Russell.
On the Ketteridge branch of my tree I got a bit carried away and pooled information from a lot of different directions, thanks to; Adam Calvert, Anne Chappell, Andy Diss, Ruth Noble, Julie Parr, Jean Pothecary, Sheila Robinson, Margaret Travers, Jennifer Turner, and Ruth Selman.
The Mynott and Diss branches were helped along by; Ian and Andrea Foster, Brenda Lyons, Derek Shaw, and Linda Skilton.
Help on the Rigby, Rabbitt and Thorney branchhes came from; Emma Parkinson, Jeffrey Orford-Perkins, Stuart Petrie, William Rabbitt, Ian Rich, Martin Rigby, and Joy Thornley.
The Whitney and Wicxcey branches had help from; Rich Meredith, and Linda Tait.
A lot of the above mentioned researchers have signed my guestbook, adding their contact details and homepage, why not add yours or give them a shout if you think you've got someone in common.
I am more than happy to share my research with anyone who is interested in the lines I have followed, all I ask in return is an open line to cross-reference any new material I might find in the future, which, of course I will pass on to whoever I can.
Thanks to all.
