Marine Cpl. Stephen R. Bixler, 20, of Suffield, Connecticut.
Bixler died while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on May 4, 2006.
Army Pfc. Jeffrey F. Braun, 19, of Stafford, Connecticut.
Braun died from a non-hostile gunshot wound in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to Battery B, 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Died on December 12, 2003.
Army CWO William I. Brennan, 36, of Bethlehem, Connecticut.
Brennan died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his OH-58D helicopter apparently collided with another OH-58D helicopter and crashed. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 25th Aviation, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Wheeler Army Air Field, Hawaii. Died on October 16, 2004.
Marine Cpl. Kemaphoom A. Chanawongse, 22, of Waterford, Connecticut.
Killed in action during operations on the outskirts of An Nasiriyah on March 23, 2003. Chanawongse was assigned to 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Marine Sgt. David J. Coullard, 32, of Glastonbury, Connecticut.
Coullard died as a result of enemy small-arms fire while conducting dismounted operations outside Haditha, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve's 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Brookpark, Ohio. As part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, all were attached to Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward). Died on August 1, 2005.
Army Pfc. Anthony D. Dagostino, 20, of Waterbury, Connecticut.
Dagostino was on board a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter when it went down in Al Fallujah, Iraq. The cause of the incident is unknown and an investigation is underway. He was assigned to the 16th Signal Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on November 2, 2003.
Army Sgt. Felix M. Del Greco, 22, of Simsbury, Connecticut.
Del Greco died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive devise and small arms fire struck his mounted patrol. He was assigned the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 102nd Infantry, New Haven, Connecticut. Died on April 9, 2004.
Marine Cpl. Kevin J. Dempsey, 23, of Monroe, Connecticut.
Dempsey died due to enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on November 13, 2004.
Army Staff Sgt. Richard S. Eaton, Jr., 37, of Guilford, Connecticut.
Eaton died in his sleep of a pulmonary edema in Ar Ramadi, Iraq. Eaton was assigned to the 323rd Military Intelligence Battalion, U.S. Army Reserves, Fort Meade, Maryland. Died on August 12, 2003.
Army Spc. Tyanna S. Felder, 22, of Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Felder died in Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained on April 4 in Mosul when her convoy vehicle was hit with an improvised explosive device. She was assigned to 296th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington. Died on April 7, 2004.
Army Civilian Barbara Heald, 60, of Stamford, Connecticut.
Heald died in Baghdad, Iraq, when the Republic National Palace was hit by a mortar round. She worked for the Project and Contracting Office - Finance. Died on January 29, 2005.
Army Spc. Christopher L. Hoskins, 21, of Danielson, Connecticut.
Hoskins died in Ramadi, Iraq, when his unit was conducting combat operations and was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died on June 21, 2005.
Army Spc. Robert W. Hoyt, 21, of Ashford, Connecticut.
Hoyt died in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV while conducting convoy operations. He was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 102nd Infantry Regiment, Bristol, Connecticut. Died on December 11, 2004.
Marine Staff Sgt. Phillip A. Jordan, 42, of Enfield, Connecticut.
Killed in action in the vicinity of An Nasiriyah. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on March 23, 2003.
Army Spc. Jacob D. Martir, 21, of Norwich, Connecticut.
Martir died in Sadr City, Iraq, when his patrol came under enemy small arms fire. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on August 18, 2004.
Army Spc. Wilfredo Perez, Jr., 24, of Norwalk, Connecticut.
Perez was killed as a result of a grenade being thrown from a window of an Iraqi civilian hospital that he was guarding in Ba'qubah, Iraq. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 67th Armor Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Died on July 26, 2003.
Marine Lance Cpl. Lawrence R. Philippon, 22, of Hartford, Connecticut.
Philippon died from enemy small-arms fire while conducting combat operations in the vicinity of Al Qa'im, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Died on May 8, 2005.
Marine Cpl. Jordan C. Pierson, 21, of Milford, Connecticut.
Pierson died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Plainville, Connecticut. Died on August 25, 2006.
Marine Lance Cpl. John T. Schmidt III, 21, of Brookfield, Connecticut.
Schmidt died from wounds received as a result of an explosion while conducting combat operations against enemy forces in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, on January 30, 2005. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, Schmidt's unit was attached to 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force. Died on May 11, 2005.
Army Staff Sgt. Thomas E. Vitagliano, 33, of New Haven, Connecticut.
Vitagliano died in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his position. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea. Died on January 17, 2005.
