HEADSTONE WHITE ROCK CEMETERY
THE FOUNDING FATHER
It was decided during the 2007 Frampton reunion that the head stone of Thomas be resurrected, as the elements and time had caused it to crack and fall clear of its foundation. The project was under taken on by Barry Skinner of Skinner Monuments, Fiberglass Composites Ltd, and myself (Peter Frampton) where required. Due to the marble stones condition and a crack being along its lower end the stone was cut square and a fiberglass carbon fiber skin put on its back. Then the stone was set into a concrete foundation and put back into position. While carrying out this repair it was noted that Thomas’s wife Louise’s stone was not up right and perpendicular so it was also dug up and repositioned as it was close to Thomas and it would be an easy fix to make both look better. Both stones were cleaned with bleach and have come back amazingly well.
The total cost was $350.00 from Skinner and $125.00 for fiberglass repair – the total bill $475.00
There was a small surplus funds remaining in the reunion committee fund maybe some further contributions required to make up the total. This will be required to be addressed in the near future and due to the small amount the hat may not be required to go full circle.
Things went well and I am pleased with the out come
Ironically Barry Skinner the man who made this repair- it was his great Grandfather who originally supplier- by the signature on Louise’s stone in the attached photo – I asked for him to honor the warranty but he was reluctant when I couldn’t produce the bill of sale!
