Everyone on this site has a story to tell, many have been incarcerated because of circumstantial evidence, some were not even at the scene of the crime.
Many have never seen their children grow up and nearly all the inmates have been through hell and back and as a society who are we to judge them, many as you can see have found God and changed themselves to become better human beings, to help and encourage others to look within themselves.
Life in prison isnt paradise, those serving to protect treat prisoners as slaves and no better than dogs and subject them to atrocities, just because they can. You only have to scour the internet to read of the conditions both men and women exist in, many are ruled by the gun and many have and are still fighting the system to secure their freedom.
Nearly all of the cases have been let down by the Judicial System which is supposd to protect them, the Police, Attorneys and society itself. America is ruled by power and money, prisoners are slaves empowered to work hard and make money for the state the prison is in. Slavery of the negros has changed to slavery of the prisoners who work for a mere 6 cents per day, dorms where they live are supposed to house 6 beds to a dorm and house instead 28 beds to a dorm in a prison that has over 700 inmates, this isnt counting those on Death Row who exist in very limiting conditions.
American prisons are full of wrongly convicted and innocent people, many coerced into admitting to crimes they did not commit to by over zealous prosecutors threats who then pile on the charges, others have been falsely convicted by false testimony from criminals bribed by prosecutors who exchanged dropping charges or reduced sentencs for false testimony against defendants.
Not all the wrongly convicted are poor, some are wealthy promininent people targeted by corrupt prosecutors seeking a celebrity case in order to boost their careers.
According to Yale University Law Professor John Lanbein
'The parallels between the modern American plea bargaining system and the ancient system of judicial torture are many and chilling, just as the person on the rack admitted to guilt in order to stop the pain, the present day defendant succumbs to psychological, torture and cops a plea, whether he is innocent or guilty, in order to avoid more charges.
