Nanny Fraioli's Peach Cake
This is the Peach Cake made from Nanny Fraioli's recipe.
To avoid confusion, Nanny was the wife of Louis C. Fraioli. She was born in Sicily in 1905. Her mother's Italian passport lists Nanny's name as Abondanza (abundance), however she said her name was Bonanzia (bonanza.). To add to the confusion she changed her name to Nancy. She had three children. John (b. 1929), Christine (b. 1935) and James (b.1938). To further add to the confusion John married Martha Lightbody who was known as Nancy Lightbody (her father called her Nancy from birth). Later after she married John she changed her name legally to Nancy M. Fraioli. THERE'S MORE As custom dictated in Italian families John was named after his paternal grandfather Angelo. He was baptized Angelo John Fraioli. (middle name John because he was born on St.John the Baptist's day, June 24.) Growing up in an affluent non-Italian neighborhood he dropped the Angelo and was known as John Fraioli. (This became his legal name from usage)
