"music is moonlight in the gloomy night of life"

Today will be no ordinary day
Can't comprehend how long it's been
Today's the day, one year ago
I threw your love to the wind
Your heart was not a virgin heart
Broken more times than it has beaten
But not too much for one more gash
The deepest cut I've ever made.
I'll burn a candle for my regret
But all we have is what might have been
The memories, the dreams that never took flight
And all because of my insecure doubt
Would we still be the way we were
Together, forever, if that day hadn't come?
Or maybe this love would still have died.
I wonder where you are today
And if you know what day it is
It's a year, twelve months, three sixty-five days
Since I called you mine
And sometimes I wish...I wish you still were.
Today, I wonder, are you thinking of me
Or am I nothing more than a name on your list?
