Current occupation Bus service planner. This involves planning routes and timetables, and working out vehicle workings and driver duties [though not too much on the duties side as it's too hard]. Is effectively still a student, since current job forms placement year of transport management degree course. Will therefore be returning to Aston University for final year in autumn 2004. Less significantly [in terms of time occupied], is also musician, poet and songwriter.

Music Has been playing guitar since early 1997, bass since late 1998. Also has some ability in playing keyboards, kazoo and theremin. Currently owns an electro acoustic guitar named Sophie, and an electric bass named Hamish; future instrumental aspirations include a bass version of Sophie and a theremin. Played bass in rock band called One Good Lead, which existed from October 1998 until October 2000. Has been in a few bands since, none of which have managed to do very much. Consequently, is now concentrating on solo career, in which capacity some gigs have been played. Has been writing psychedelic semi orchestral concept album since sometime in the late 1990s, but has now reached an impasse and requires extensive use of studio to finish project. Tastes in music are fairly wide ranging; by way of example, has multiple albums by the Moody Blues, Pearl Jam, the Smashing Pumpkins, Fleetwood Mac, Roxy Music, Picture House, Alice in Chains, REM, Kathryn Williams, a Perfect Circle, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Corrs and Doves. Believes that Clifford T Ward is hideously underrecognised as the great songwriter he was. Is often annoyed when persons list large numbers of bands and musicians whose music they like in online biographies.

Poetry Has been writing poetry for about the same length of time as has been playing guitar. Found most of his early work hilarious, but also somewhat tragic. Now seldom finds it at all, and hopes that this is the result of selective destruction. Occasionally uses typewriter [as yet unnamed] for writing poetry and song lyrics, and stresses that this is not connected in any way with his alleged obsession with Eddie Vedder.

Literature Considers experience in this sphere to be limited, and is therefore trying to improve upon this. Has most of Terry Pratchett's 'Discworld' novels, though the most recent few are still required. Is currently working slowly through the works of Robert Rankin and Iain M Banks. Has not yet read '1984', 'Catcher in the Rye' or 'On the Road'.

Other Interests Is a bus and railway enthusiast, and as such undertakes a fair amount of bashing and frequently uses exclamations such as 'rateable!', 'hellfire!' and 'my lords!'. Has long been interested in railway modelling, though despite having had many ideas on that front has not done very much, besides buying equipment that has not yet been used. Appreciates good Wetherspoon's pubs, having sampled them in many locations. Would like to try acting again, for the first time in a decade. Is awaiting information regarding incidentals such as purpose in this world.
