Discophyllum rotactiscus Ordovician Africa


[c.f. Discophyllum rotactiscus]. A Parapsonomid, eldonioid and a huge soft bodied early ancestor of the sea-urchins at 165mm or 6 1/2 inches across on matrix that is 210 x 245 x 20mm. The mouth can be clearly seen as a slight depression off-centre. It exhibits the radial lines indicative of type. Similar fossils are known from China and I will send the buyer a copy of the literature with this specimen.
