Fossil Creek TraderDick Riney, the Fossil Creek Trader has a day job, but is less interested in that than he is his hobbies. You can find Dick in his workshop on any given day, trying out new ideas, learning and perfecting his craftmanship in many different areas. He began making arrowheads 1994-95 and found he could make better arrowheads than he could find. His love of arrowhead hunting was replaced by the idea he could make them just as the Native Americans did. His crafting tools are a little different, of course, but the concept is basically the same. All his arrowheads are made by hand. A few years later, he bought a lathe and began making cedar boxes. Each of his boxes are handmade and he is continunally working to perfect and redesign boxes of all shapes and sizes. In the last couple of years, Dick began going to a local rendezvous where the sights and sounds inspired his creation of his own version of the powder horn. With a few successes under his belt, he makes them small, light and unique for the discerning buyer.
