This is an open genre contest, but send your best and remember this story will be published in The Storyteller in the October/November/December 2006 issue, so leave out anything graphic. Watch your language--we're not prudes--we just believe foul language, graphic violence and horror is unnecessary. (There are times when only a mild expletive will work, but please limit them.) Leave us marveling at your use of beautiful words, description and dialogue.

Writer's Fanfare Writing Contest:  1,500 word essay about the writing life. We want to know why you do it, what keeps you going and other personal experiences. Can be funny or serious. Show us what it takes to be a writer and why. Help other writers to realize we are not alone.

Must be postmarked by October 25, 2005

1st place winner will be published in the Jan/Feb/March 2006 issue.

All submission MUST be unpublished. Enter as often as you like, but entry fee must accompany each entry. Those who do not follow the guidelines will be disqualified. Make checks and money orders payable to The Storyteller.
