Fort Benning Information and Activities

Child and Youth Services Branch (CYS)
Child and Youth Services offers a variety of top quality services for children ages 4 weeks thru 12th grade. Programs include full day child care, hourly child care, part day pre-school, sports, clubs and open recreation. All children using CYS services must be enrolled through the Central Registration Office.

School Age Services offers before and after school care for children in Grades K-5 attending any school on
Fort Benning. The program also offers full-time care on teacher in-service days and full day camp sessions during the school vacations.

This program provides leisure time recreation programs which are designed to meet the needs and interest of youth family members in 6th - 8th grades. Activities include arts and crafts, teen and pre-teen dances, scouting, family activities, Youth Job Employment Seminar, Teen Discovery, field trips and teen
lock-ins. Middle school & Teen program hours are Mon - Fri, 3:00 - 6:00 pm during the school year and 8:00 - noon during the summer.

Youth Sports & Fitness

Offers a wide variety of sports activities and instructional programs to children 18 months - 12th grade. Programs include Baseball, T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Spring and Fall Soccer, Football, Cheerleading, Summer and Winter Basketball, Tae Kwon Do, Gymnastics, Ballet and Wrestling. Various leisure time recreation activities for younger family members throughout the year, i.e., visit Santa, Post Easter Egg Hunt and Halloween activities. Classes and sports programs are open to youth family members age 4 through 15.

Army Family Team Building Program (AFTB)

Monday - Friday,
8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Closed federal/training holidays.
AFTB is a training program designed to teach individuals and families how to be more independent with minimal outside support when their spouse deploys. There are three AFTB training tracks for family members, military, and civilian employees which address the issue from an individual and leadership perspective. Topics include preparing for deployment and building unit support networks and programs. Individuals may receive training on a voluntary basis through the AFTB Program (Levels I, II, or III).
