Okay, so we know a few things about each person.
George Zimmerman: 28. Arrested for assault on a police officer and resisting arrest (charges dropped though). And, his ex fiance filed for a restraining order against him due to domestic abuse (granted). Which this guy claims she hit him first or instigated or whatever. Either way, this man is known to react with his fists before his words. He's supposed to be part of the community watch, and he claims Martin attacked him first. He also claims Martin broke his nose and smashed his head on the pavement before he shot him in self defense. We also know that Zimmerman followed Martin before the shooting despite 911 dispatcher's warnings not to. Also, he's 200+lbs. Not a small dude. Hispanic- American... According to him.
Trayvon Martin: 17 year old teenager who went out to get skittles and iced tea. Was wearing a hoodie and is black. Suspended for trace amounts of weed in a baggie in his pocket. Walked through a gated community. 140lbs.
Police reports say Zimmerman was bloody. He had a broken nose and the back of his head was bleeding. BUT look at this video. In this video you see that his nose is not broken and he is not bleeding from the back of his head. If he had been bleeding and punched, his face would be black and blue and so would the back of his head. There are no marks whatsoever. No bruising or swelling either. Unless you're a robot, you fucking bleed when your nose is broken and your head is torn open on the pavement. When I got my concussion after a car door slammed on my head, I couldn't even stand up straight. I highly doubt Zimmerman wouldn't have gotten a concussion if his head had been slammed against the pavement repeatedly. If his accusations were true, he probably wouldn't even be conscious at that moment. Fuck, I passed out after a door hit me. Also, notice how the police don't even touch him. They don't lead him into the building, Zimmerman follows them, and appears to be shooting the shit with these officers. Obviously, the police report isn't accurate. Zimmerman isn't even arrested at all that night and is now in hiding.
Zimmerman wasn't tested for drugs or alcohol, but Martin was. If you listen to the 911 calls from the neighbors, you hear a scared kid in the background. Not a scared grown man. Also, Florida's Stand your Ground law states you're allowed to defend yourself using the same amount of force as your attacker. Zimmerman was armed, Martin had candy. Something tells me that isn't equal force.
But wait, Martin was suspended for possession of drugs. To be honest. That really isn't relevant. A. He's a teenager, and about what, 90% teens have been under the influence of something illegal at one point in their lives? B. It was residue in a baggie. No actual drugs were found on him. I'm not trying to say he didn't do anything bad in this case and call him the good kid or anything. It's just that kids do stupid shit. If he actually had drugs on him, especially drugs harder than weed, I might be skeptical for his side of the story. But it's fucking weed. It has medical purposes, and it's only a felony here. You're not a hardened criminal for possessing weed. Hell, I know a lot of people who have smoked it and still made something out of their lives. It's really not that big a deal. Oh and this whole, he was wearing a hoodie, so that made him suspicious act is plan stupid. Count how many people you see wearing a hoodie in public next time you go out. Do you think that all of those people are criminals because they're wearing a sweatshirt with a hood attached to it? I have a 3.54 GPA, never even been pulled over or arrested, yet I'm obviously a criminal because I wear a hoodie on a daily basis. Never mind the fact that it's freaking cold out or anything.
I have a really bad feeling this guy is gonna walk free. Something isn't right with this picture and the Florida justice system has already failed a kid once.

You've all heard the stories about chicken pox parties becoming more popluar right? More and more parents are choosing to opt out of getting their kids vaccinated. What is that really doing to our children though? You're scared that your child might develop autsim from a vaccine despite the rumors not being true so you don't get your child vaccinated. Next thing you know, your child is hopitalized because whooping cough is killing him.
Parents do not realize what they're doing to their children when they refuse vaccinations. They're pretty much signing their child's death certificate. They think they're doing what's best for the child, but in reality, they aren't. Exposing your child to chicken pox is one thing, but putting your child's life in danger because you're afraid of the measles/ mumps vaccine is ridiculous and a very foolish thing to do. Not only are you risking your child's life, but many others as well. You have two children, one isn't vaccinated by choice, the other is too young to be vaccinated. The older one brings home the measles, now both children are at risk because of it. By not vaccinating, these diseases that could be prevented are killing thousands of people a year in the U.S alone.
Because of these fears, schools are allowing kids to go to school without being vaccinated, which is only fueling the fire. Say you have 20 kids in a classroom and one of them is carrying mumps, 5 other children including your own is not vaccinated. Those five children have a very high risk of catching it, and probably a higher risk of dying from it. Vaccinations should be mandatory by law for children attending school. It may impeed on your personal choice, but it puts many other lives at risk. It's like the Columbine massacre. The two responsible are the children carrying a deadly childhood disease, the guns used are the disease, and the people killed or wounded are the people who have contracted the disease from them. Some died from the disease, and some were left with brain damage or other disabilities caused by the disease. We have gun control laws (despite our second amendment rights) to prevent things like this, why not vaccination laws? Diseases like measles, mumps, whopping cough, they all kill more people a year than the two students with guns in the day of the massacre.
Myth: Vaccines cause autism. Truth: That study was all fake. Lawyers funded the study in hopes to make money from parents who sued the vaccine companies. Myth: The vaccines are more dangerous than the diseases. Truth: These diseases that can be prevented kill thousands of people a year. Most of those people are young children. The vaccines are tested on thousands of willing people before the FDA approves of them. If they weren't in any way safe and contained toxic metals, the FDA would have stepped in a long time ago and would have banned the use of vaccines. (Click this link to see more myths about vaccines)
These diseases can all be prevented and soon eliminated if parents were more willing to get their children vaccinated. Yes children get fussy after their shots, they may have a slight fever after, but it's worth it rather than seeing your child contract a deadly disease that could have been easily prevented.

Teaching our children to follow gender stereotypes is severely hurting many children of today. We "force them to live in narrowly defined boxes of pink and blue" as one university professor writes (http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/gender-and-schooling/201011/punished-crossing-gender-lines). By teaching our children that boys and girls have to follow stereotypes, we are really teaching them bigotry, homophobia, and transphobia. Children are very maliable when they are young and it is very easy to teach them such things, even if you don't clearly tell them your views. Parents today are overly pinkifying/ masculinizing their children, in directly causing violence, harassment, even suicides of teenagers.
Even preschool children are subjects of ridicule. One young boy decided he wanted to be his favorite cartoon character (who happened to be female) from his favorite cartoon for this past Halloween. The mother of this young boy wrote in a blog about how the other mothers were appalled by the sight of her and her child dressed as that female character walking into school that morning of the school's Halloween party. (http://www.parentdish.com/2010/11/08/mom-defends-sons-daphne-halloween-costume/9, (VIDEO) http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26184891/vp/40068374#40042202)
Even as young as first grade, children are being harassed by their peers due to gender stereotypes. A first grader and female Star Wars fan was bullied because the boys of her class thought that Star Wars water bottles are for boys only. (http://blog.moviefone.com/2010/11/19/star-wars-bullies/)
The kids aren't the only ones doing it too. A male high school senior was kicked off his football team for wearing pink cleats. Those cleats were worn for Breast Cancer Awareness month, and were given to him by his grandmother, who is a breast cancer survivor herself. (http://rivals.yahoo.com/highschool/blog/prep_rally/post/Mississippi-player-kicked-off-team-after-wearing?urn=highschool-284296)
This one really pisses me off. A 12 year old female was beaten up by her fellow classmates because her name was Randi and they decided that name was for boys only. At 12 years old, and these children are beating up others because of something they had no control over (http://gayrights.change.org/blog/view/girl_beaten_for_having_boys_name)
Growing up in the 90's, I played with Tonka Trucks, Hot Wheels, and even played with boys on the playground. I was never bullied because of those things. I prefered pokemon over barbies, and Power Rangers over make up any day, and still no harassment. Even later on in my teenage years, being the only female in a computer repair class still didn't influence any desire of the other students to bully me.
Why is it so different now? After teaching our children the whole "girls can do anything boys can do" spheal, why are children of today going back to the ideas of pre WWII (A.K.A specific gender roles)? Even Barbie, as fake and materialistic as she is, she is anything that she wants to be, even those seen as more of a male role. She was made to empower females, but yet, this message is being ignored by today's youth. Even for the boys, why is it a double standard, girls can be who they want, but boys can't?
Education is needed to stop this intolerance and phobias of the different. Especially for these changing times. Children need to learn the meaning of equality early, and we need to start teaching them now to try to stop future acts of violence against those who choose to step out of their pink and blue boxes. We need to empower today's youth and let them be who they want to be.

I seriously don't know why everyone is freaking out of the mosque being built 600 feet away from ground zero. Yeah so they open it on 9/11. Who gives a shit? The whole country doesn't shut down for that day, schools, banks, and businesses still run so why does it matter? It's not a national holiday. Also the Muslims didn't attack the US. A group of terrorists that just happened to be Muslim attacked the US. This was is called the War on Terror, not the war on Muslims. The first amendment in the US protects the freedom of religion, but by freaking out over a mosque being built is not practicing what you preach. If this were a synagogue or a church being built, I'm sure there wouldn't be so much controversy over this.
To be honest, people should just get over themselves. We get attacked one day, but yet we go over there and kill people for "terrorism" and that is justified? It's like a child shooting a school bully on the playground, it's not justifiable. One tragic day isn't a reason to throw other people's civil rights out the window.

Ever heard of separation of church and state? It's supposed to be a part of this country. Yeah the first amendment allows us to have faith, but it doesn't give anyone the right to press it upon others, nor should it be anywhere near the government.
"Under god" was placed in the pledge of alligence in the 50's during the red scare era. Communistic views include atheism, meaning no belief in a deity. Hence the "under god" placement. It was put there to show that we were a democratic society and that communisim wasn't going to get in our way. In other words, they were shoving religion on American citizens so that we wouldn't be labeled as communists. Tell me why this is still in the pledge of alligence? If there is a separation of church and state why would religion still be found in this pledge?
It's the same for gay marriage, why does the church have to push itself into legal matters? During the campaign to appeal same sex marriage here in Maine, the Catholic church of Portland poured money into the "yes" portion of the campaign to produce propaganda stating how wrong they thought this was and how it would "affect our children and schools." Why should churches be allowed to contribute millions of money into the government for something that doesn't concern them? Also, if they have the money to do this, shouldn't they be taxed like the rest of us? This campaign was between the government and the people of Maine. The church shouldn't have been able to contribute.
What pisses me off the most is the fact that we might as well not even have the whole separation of church and state. No one pays attention to its existence, not even our own government. There is a reason the framers wanted this separation. They knew that religion in politics would infringe upon rights of citizens, which has already happened many times over the years, not just with the same sex debate. Something needs to be done about this or we will continue down the path to religious tyranny.

With all the religious and political wars and discrimination going around it makes you wonder. How did we as the human race get so bigoted? How did we as humans become so divided on things that shouldn't even be debated? Who gives people the right to judge another? Who gives people the right to decide on others rights?
Look at those who are different than you. Those who have different religious beliefs, those who have different sexualities, those who have a different skin color than you. Now throw away all those differences and what do you see? A human just like you are. Nothing more, nothing less. A person of a different faith or a different sexuality doesn't make them less of a person. It also doesn't make you better than them. It makes them unique to this world. You may even have a common interest with these people who think or act differently than you. If you were to really think about it, we may have differences, but yet we are all the same. We all breathe, eat, have families, live, laugh, and even love. We all have emotions and we all have opinions. The person next you may have a different skin color, but that doesn't mean he isn't human.
Tolerance is taught in many schools and many religions. Tolerance is the golden rule that states: "do unto others as you wish to be done unto you." Tolerance is kind and forgiving. Tolerance loves all no matter gender, race, color, religion, or sexuality. Tolerance sees the good in differences. Yet, tolerance is often ignored. Why is this? Is it because we as people refuse to see the similarities in people different than us? Why should these differences divide us as humans? This lack of tolerance brings about war, destruction, and violates human rights. Tolerance of others could end these injustices. It would bring peace and diplomacy between nations. It would end discrimination against minorities. It would also end things like genocide. It would also end hate, something that we could all live without.
This lack of tolerance is a problem. A problem that needs to be fixed, but it is a problem that will be very difficult to fix. A child's mind is very easy to mold, it's very malleable. Unlike a child, an adults mind is very rigid and not very easy to influence. This is part of the problem. Children look up to their parents which makes it very easy for them to be influenced by their parents beliefs and views. This spreads intolerance. We can fix this problem by teaching the world to love. If only the world would listen.

Once again, apple produced another product not worth buying. In fact it's so full of fail that everybody on the internet is making fun of it. Of course Windows has a tablet PC that came out a few years ago that was pretty niffty. But the iPad is far from niffty and seems to be behind on the times. It's basically a huge iPhone. It does everything the iPod Touch and the iPhone does. Apps, internet, music, pictures whatever. It just has a bigger touch screen and is heavier. If I wanted something that would do these kinds of things, I would just get an iPodTouch or an iPhone, they seem to fail less than the iPad. It even has16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB of storage, which is the same amount for both the iPod touch and iPhone.
Now both the iPad and the tablet PC are computers. One is just better than the other and it's not just personal opinion this time. The PC version does everything a regular laptop or desktop computer can. It just can't run apps like the iPad does. The iPad does everything the iPhone, iPod Touch does and most things the PC can do. But the iPad does not support flash. Flash is used on almost every website known to man kind, how are you expected to be able to use the internet without being able to load flash based sites? Also, the "A4" chip that's inside only runs at 1GHz. Computers are supposed to run faster than that now a days. It also doesn't multi task like the PC version can. Also it sells anywhere from $499 to $699. I built my computer for roughly about $400 and it has 2.1 Ghz of CPU power and can handle flash and multi tasking. So it's not worth it for something that cannot do what you would want a computer to do.
So pretty much, it sucks. Way to go apple.

I am so sick and fucking tired of hearing Obama is the anti christ, he's out to destroy the world, he is so full of shit. Shut the fuck up already. Like seriously, shut up. Where is your proof? And taking things out of context doesn't help your case and makes you look really dumb to those who are actually somewhat smart ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqgvAvjOB6E ).Your conspiracy theories are first, blown out of proportion, second, not in any way logical, and third, incredibly dumb. People need to seriously get the fuck over themselves and the fact he is our president. Get over it, he beat McCain end of story.
These same people who spread these rumors also thought that Bush was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I hope I'm not the only who noticed this. These are also the same people who said that he is a Muslim terrorist and he was born in Kenya. Now these people are saying he's a communist, out to destroy the world including our country, trying to turn the country into something close to Nazi Germany, etc, all out of spite that McCain lost. These people also don't see anything wrong with the country while families are being forced out of their homes onto the street, the citizens are being spied on and being forced to falsely admit to being a terrorist, as well as countless number of people are being needlessly killed in a war we need not to stick our noses in. These people also believe that the earth is 6000 years old and man co existed with the dinosaurs... Right...
I don't understand how people can be so stupid? Is it because we're dumbing down the curriculum for our children's education? Or as Americans we're as gullible and dumb as the world makes us seem? Like seriously, what the fuck is happening to us? We used to be the symbol of hope for the new migrants. Now we're stereotyped as fat, dumb, and lazy, which is true for a good majority of us and Americans in general.
Obama is not going to cause doom to us all, so people, shut the fuck up already. Look at what he's done so far within the first year. He's gotten us out of the recession. We all may be broke still and losing our jobs but the stock market isn't going to crash again. He saved us all from another depression. He also hasn't gotten us blown up yet. Bush was on a fast track to getting the US nuked sooner or later if he stayed president. Also be thankful he has yet to put into law things like the Patriot Act and the No Child Left Behind Acts which were awaste of time and money.
Obama may not have been my first choice as president, but he was the better one of the two extremes. I would rather have a far left president with a bad health bill plan who is willing to fix this country rather than a dieing far right one with an idiot vice president who would dig this country an even bigger grave.

Okay so health insurance is getting really ridiculous. Like REALLY ridiculous. Insane prices. Telling doctors and the rest of us what is good for us. Do they know what we experience everyday? Do they even care? Why should we have to deal with shitty medications that do the exact opposite and make us more sick while people like congressmen (or women) can get the best health care available while we suffer. I know Medicare is a culprit. They tell doctors what they can and cannot prescribe because of cost. Well what happens if the medication makes them sick? They say vomiting or other side effects are no big deal. And then continue changing our prescriptions to even cheaper medications that make things worse. It's happened to me with my meds. They changed it THREE times on me. The latest one gave me mood swings, severe depression, and nausea. But still, they don't care if my well being is sacrificed for their expenses. They could care less if we lived or died. As long as they get their money right?
I say we should stand up for ourselves. Why should we have to deal with this? Maybe if everyone who is fed up with this in the United States wrote a letter to their senators, maybe then we can change how healthcare is being run. There are about 307,083,809 people in the US. If we can get at least 200,000,000 people to write letters maybe they will think about us when their mailboxes are flooded with our letters. Send one every month if you have to. We need to get our point across to them. Obama may be trying to resolve this issue, but it needs to be done now. Not next year, not the year after. NOW. Health care is important to have, it needs to be reformed.

A question that stumps most people and is often asked. But I think I have found a solution using philosophy and scientific theory. Or mostly just scientific theory. Anyway. If you were to look back when life began on earth (scientifically now), life started out as single cells. These cells adapted to their environment and evolved into something greater than the one cell they once were. They evolved into creatures, and so on. Speaking of evolution, Darwin's theory comes into play in my theory. You know, the theory of life adapting, breeding, and evolving to survive and grow as a species. Anyway, I was thinking that since birds are basically evolved dinosaurs, the chicken obviously camefirst. The dinosaur evolved into a chicken like creature, it laid eggs, and it kept adapting and evolving into the chicken we know today. It seems plausible right?
