I stood today
and stared at the sky
then I asked the question
Why?

Why am I here Lord
what's your master plan
some days I wonder
if I am a mouse or a man

"You see my son"
the answer came
"Just as always
I remain the same
But you my son
have much growing to do
and you will change a lot
before we are through

Life may trip you
and Yes you may fall
but your growing process
will never stall
Some days you'll feel like a giant
among the men where you stand
and other days
you'll feel like a mouse not a man

But my plan for you
reaches far past your sky
and that my son
is the answer to your, Why?"

The Face In My Mirror

I looked in my mirror today
and I stood there in awe
for it was not I in the mirror you see
but a child that I saw

He was full of life and
his eyes shown clear
it was such a shock
I stood there in fear

But the face just smiled
so I had to smile too
then he said to me
"Here's looking at you"
But It was not I
this face that I saw
for this face was young
with out any flaw

But the face said
"This may be a surprise
but this is how you
look in your Fathers eyes"

For it's the child in you
that the Lord loves so
you should cling to it tight
and never let go

I can see it the world in my head.
It?s always full of joy, and cheerfulness.
It all revolves around the light.
It all revolves around the rock of ages.
The world in my head.
No evil can take it no one at all.
Only the good, and the patient can come in.
Only the courageous warriors can come in.
Only the Valiant For Truth can come.
Only the courtesy of good.
The world in my head.
Only the courageous for Him can come.
And if you are darkened.
And blind from the light.
If so see the healer.
If done now come.
Only the evil will not live past the pool of water.
Because once you are down under.
After they pull you up.
You are faithful.
You are no longer blind, or dirty.
You are purified, and clean.
The world in my head is.
Is just getting closer.

Carman - 'This Blood is for You'

Violently they grabbed His arms as they tightly strapped each wrist.
With the hellish looks that a strong-armed soldier whip clenched in his fist
Laced with chips of bone they beat Him hard from His shoulders to His feet,
And it sliced right through His olive skin just like razors though a sheet.
Countless times the blood splattered as each inhuman lash was given
Several times His knees gave way as His flesh just hung like ribbons.
Then surprisingly He turned His head though the words He used were few,
The soldier's face turned pale when He said, "This blood is for you".

Uncaringly they tossed a garment across His weakened form,
And His blood pressure fell deathly low as the crowds began to swarm.
They forced Him to carry His cross uphill as His face they punched and smacked,
As the splinters from the crisscrossed beam dug deep into His back.
Through lack of sleep and dehydration His tongue began to swell,
And weakened by His loss of blood, this Prophet, Teacher, fell.
When He did some blood splattered on a man named Simon's shoe,
And as He bent to wipe it off, the Prophet said, "Simon, this blood is for you".

Chorus
And this blood can save the soul, heal the sick, mend the heart,
This blood can give you access, to the very throne of God.
And it still can go the distance, from the pain to where you are,
This blood is for you, the blood of the lamb.

Then they pounded a spike through the bones in His wrist, bursting arteries and veins,
As they dropped the cross in the hole they dug, His body convulsed with pain.
Through an agony and torment that never a soul shall find,
He tilts His face toward heaven with full control of His mind.
With more love than any human heard before that time or since,
He made a statement that to this day makes the strongest skeptic wince.
He cried, "Father, please forgive them, for they know not what they do."
And as He gave His life for those lost in sin, He was saying, "This blood is for you."

Separated I cut myself clean
From a past that comes back in my darkest of dreams
Been apprehended by a spiritual force

Saw a man with a tat on his big fat belly
It wiggled around like marmalade jelly
It took me awhile to catch what he said
Cause I had to match the rhythm of his belly with my head
"Jesus Saves" is what he raved in a typical tattoo green
He stood on a box in the middle of the city and he claimed he had a dream

What will people think when they hear that I'm a Jesus Freak
What will people do when they find that it's true
I don't really care if they label me a Jesus Freak
Cause there ain't no disguising the truth

Kamikaze my death is gain
I've been marked by the maker of peculiar display
High and lofty, they see me as weak

There was a man from the desert with naps in his head
The sand that he walked was also his bed
The words that he spoke made the people assume
There wasn't too much left in the upper room
With skins on his back and hair on his face
They thought he was crazed by the locusts he ate
The Pharisees tripped when they heard him speak

People say I'm strange does it make me a stranger
That my best friend was born in a manger

All who sail the sea of faith
Find out before too long
How quickly blue skies can grow dark
And gentle winds grow strong
Suddenly fear is like white water
Pounding on the soul
Still we sail on knowing
That our Lord is in control

Sometimes He calms the storm
With a whispered "Peace be still"
He can settle any sea
But it doesn't mean He will
Sometimes He holds us close
And lets the wind and waves go wild
Sometimes He calms the storm
And other times He calms His child

He has a reason for each trial
That we pass through in life
And though we're shaken
We cannot be pulled apart from Christ
No matter how the driving rain beats down
On those who hold to faith
A heart of trust will always
Be a quiet peaceful place
