Rene Higuita

Rene Higuita, produced one of the greatest sporting moments ever during the friendly at Wembley. From a Jamie Redknapp shot, probably intended as a cross he dived forwards in the air and, swinging his legs backwards in the air, whacked the ball away with the heels of his boots.

Jerzy Dudek

About Jerzy Dudek
Birthplace : 23.03.1973 Poland
Height : 6ft 2
Weight : 13st 11
Position : Goalkeeper

Jerzy Dudek in my eyes is the Jewel in the crown for Liverpool FC for the simple fact that this is the Area that has given liverpool most problems in say the last 15 years and i think the last Quality Keeper Liverpool had before this boy was Ray Clemence.
You have just got to look down the years and look at the teams winning all the Titles and they will have one thing in common a great goalkeeper, i rate this man to be the player who can give liverpool that extra edge needed to push arch rival's Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal out of the top position.
Through out his Career with Liverpool Jerzy like any goalkeeper has made mistakes, but did he make up for them in the Champion's League Final the boy was on Fire that shot from close up from Andriy Shevchenko was one of the best reflex saves i have ever seen and forget about the Grobbelaar wobble Jerzy was break dancing when AC Milan was taking the penalties. This Won the Liverpool fans the big one.

Jerzy Dudek in now a Liverpool God !!!

Edwin Van Der Sar

Edwin Van Der Sar

• Born: 29 Oct 1970, Voorhout, Holland
• Signed: 1 July 2005, from Fulham
• Other Previous Clubs: Ajax, Juventus
• Debut: 9 August 2005 v Debrecen (H) Champions League
• International Team: Holland
Edwin van der Sar has a great wealth of experience, an impressive collection of winners' medals and almost a century of international caps under his belt.

Van der Sar's ability is without question. He is deceptively agile for a big goalkeeper and terrifically capable in the air.

Edwin is the sixth Dutch player to join Manchester United, following Arnold Muhren, Raimond van der Gouw, Jordi Cruyff, Jaap Stam and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

He was a product of the famed Ajax youth system, and won his first European trophy when the Amsterdam side beat Torino on away goals to clinch the 1991/92 UEFA Cup.

He won his second European trophy three years later, when he helped Ajax to triumph over AC Milan in the 1994/95 Champions League Final. He narrowly missed out on another winner's medal the following year when Ajax lost the '96 final to Juventus on penalties.

Van der Sar's Ajax career also yielded a European Super Cup triumph and four Eridivisie (Dutch League) titles before he moved to Italian giants Juventus in 1999 - at a time when Sir Alex Ferguson had earmarked him as one of his favourites to replace the outgoing Peter Schmeichel.

After two seasons in Turin, Edwin sought a move after Juve recruited the immense Gianluigi Buffon. Jean Tigana's Fulham quickly snapped him up for £5million and he made his Cottagers debut against United at Old Trafford on 19 August 2001.

Tangible glory has always proved elusive on an international stage for Edwin. He was outstanding in the Dutch sides which exited in the semi-final stage at the 1998 World Cup as well as the 2000 and 2004 European Championships.

Gianluigi Buffon

About Gianluigi Buffon
Birthplace : 28 January, 1978 Carrara, Italy
Height : 6ft 2
Weight : 12st 9
Position : Goalkeeper

Gigi Buffon is widely acknowledged as one of the best goalkeepers in the world - and yet he started out playing in midfield. Back then, not even his wildest dreams could have prefigured that he would be defending a Serie A goal at the age of 17. Let alone saving a penalty from Ronaldo and debuting for the national side. Five years on, and Buffon's list of honours is long enough to make even the most seasoned and legendary keeper envious.
This guy is going to be remembered in the same league as Dino Zoff the best Ever Italian Goalkeeper

Iker Casillas

Birth Date: 5/20/1981
Birth Place: Madrid , Spain
Nationality: Spain
Height: 185
Weight: 70
Position: Goalkeeper
Current Club: Real Madrid

Despite the fact he will be just 25 years old when the World Cup kicks off, Casillas is arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world. With 300 appearances for Real Madrid and over 50 Spain caps he already has a wealth of experience and now he has ironed out a weakness on high balls, his speed and reflexes make him very difficult to beat. He has signed a new contract at Madrid and could go on to break all of their appearance records.
