Spiritual Rites '08

Welcome to the second

"Spiritual Rites"

S U S P E N S I O N meeting 2008

11 -12 oct.

Dear friends, freaks and spirits of nature,

we are proud to make our second spiritual suspension meeting, to prepare and awaken as many people as we can for

the new time that is coming. During this meeting, we try to recreate the spiritual side of suspension,

as we believe it was done many years ago. When people were living in harmony with the nature,

these rituals were to honor and give respect to the nature,

for all she has given to us.

We start the meeting by a guided group-meditation for a strong spiritual energy for the people who will fly.

We make a connection with all the elements and let our energy unite with this power, and all becomes one.

(believed to be one of the early meanings of the "swastika")

The meeting will be held in the same location as before, with plenty of space for relaxing.

Food and drinks will be there for the whole weekend. it will all be vegetarian (most even vegan).

For the meat eating-people, we recommend not eating meat for at least 3 weeks before suspending anyway...

People who are interested in a good preparation can contact us for the ritual diet.

everybody is welcome to stay over, so no need for hotel.

but bring your own sleeping bag/and stuff you need.

The Flying Swastika

The Flying Swastika is founded to bring ancient traditions back to life.
People from different nations, travelled around the world
to gather information and develope new ideas, to keep the old traditions
up to the modern standards of hygiene and safety, exposing this to the wolrd
in a form of cultural body art and modification,
combined with mind expanding rituals.

The Flying Swastika
lokated in Maastricht (the Netherlands), traveling around the globe, to bring
Bodypiercing,
Traditional Tattoo
and
Suspension
to the people.

Bodypiercing

To "pierce" the body, penetrading the skin with a sharp object and insert a jewelery
to gain higher personal strength or showing your social status within the tribe or communitie.

For thousands of years, all over the world, regardless of the culture and the color of the skin,
people have worn, and still do, many different kinds of body jewelery. In history there are
many different places and materials that have been used for adorning the body:
wood, bone, horn, nuts, stones, plastic and many different kind of metal,
like bronse, silver, gold, surgical steel, titanium and niobium. All these decorations, body-
modifiactions, were done to have a "permanent" reminder.

All these cultures, beliefs, materials, places on the body, jewelery and ideas are so different,
but one thing is the same, everybody was doing it.
Nowadays people see it as a fashion statement, but that is only because they don't know the meaning
anymore where it originaly stood for. Without the meaning it's just your personal choise to decorate
yourself the way it pleases you. So understand what a body-decoration can do or mean for u, and
go for it...

After learning and working for 6 years, in several good running bodypiercing studios,
i mainly use my techniques for marking the body for tattoos and suspension and of caurse for putting the hooks in.
u can still find me working in several piercing studio's in holland and germany. check the link page for details.

Traditional Tattoo

an acient technic that has long gone?
wrong...it is still practiced by native people and tought to others to bring the knowledge into the world.
in the places where u can still find the original "tatau" it's mostly considered as old fashioned and the people there want "western style" tattoos.
what happens is, that the locals make "machines" out of scrapyard materials and tattoo people with old western designs.
the old techniques dissapear as well as the disigns, with all the meanings of the real tatau.
by working with "hand tools" i try to show the world, how the tattoo is originated and how importand it is to have a good disign and meaning to decorate your body.
