Lesson 2: Inverted

Alright guys the Certification is coming up soon so go back through and review everything that you have learned.

Now we have one thing to learn today and one thing alone, and that is how to fly while inverted.

Now you can not initially start flying from an inverted state, all you'll do is end up doing a front flip on your broom when you lean forward.

Flying inverted is a great way to avoid low branches without losing speed. It take a lot of concentration and you can't be afraid of doing it.

Now to do a barrel roll one must simple push you're full body to the left or right side while flying forward. When we turn all we do is shift our legs with the broom and the nose will turn. When we want to invert ourselves we must push our whole body to one direction. You'll notice when you do this you are bringing the opposite leg up slightly much like you would if you were sitting in a chair to lean to the side.

Now you have to do this sharply and you have continue leaning or you will stay inverted.

Bringing yourself up from an inverted state is a lot harder than it sounds. It requires a lot of force if you want to continue in your same direction. Now if you feel like you can't do it simply pull back on the broom which will bring you into an upright position but you will be flying the other direction (this is called a C turn because it allows you to gain speed while going back to a reverse position).

Ok now I want you all to practice today doing barrel rolls. Once you think you have that down try some simple inverted flying and go for a C-turn. Once you think you have all this down and understand wind resistance come to class next week and we will go over Vortex Acceleration.
