Hello Everyone: On behalf of Hot Diggity Dogs, I want to thank each and everyone of you for coming to our "No Limits" Tournament in Trenton, Ontario. Celebrating 10 years of flyball would not have been complete without all our friends. We had quite a number of new HDD people to train and therewas certainly lots of exciting racing to show what happens at a tournament. Also your promptness and preparedness for the racing lanesmade the entire weekend most enjoyable. With a record number of entries, the entire tournament ran smoothly and on time. I know it certainly made my job easier. Well done everyone! The tournament is already scored so hopefully it will be posted soon.We look forward to seeing all of you in Trenton again next year. In the meantime don't forget our Norwood Tournament is being held on August 1-2 weekend. Closing date is July 3 and, yes, we are continuingour 10 years of flyball celebration (hint...this time it will be the "people" we celebrate.)
I have Tough spun matting in my training hall and its stood up very well forover 5 years. We do have extra matting on the flyball lanes. We run agility, rally and obedience classes with about 50 plus studentsgoing through a week. Two clubs practice flyball weekly. The matting has stood up very well, and the students love it. We have triedthe vinyl matting and it was very slippery, definitely not safe for agilityor flyball. .We tape the edges and do have some tears, but I learned a technique thatsome flyball clubs use here after the fact. They tape the edges first, withtape around the edge, then lay them down and tape them down. The tapededges then do not rip when the mats are moved. We got a very good deal on mat ends from the company, the mats are shorterin some cases, but wider, and we bought a large amount from them and splitwith a couple of clubs. If you call the warehouse directly, you may be able to get some that way, they were more than happy to clear their unused job roll ends! For flyball, I bought some tough spun matting at a very good price from aclearance center here, and we tape that down over the other matting for apermanent flyball lane, as that wears more quickly. We can play agility andhave classes over these mats and move the equipment with no problems. Cleanup is a breeze. These mats are grey, so the lanes are quite prominent, but it looks great, Ithink.Hope that helps.ElsiePDQ, Saskatchewan -- WESKEYS BORDER COLLIES and BELGIAN SHEPHERDSwww.imagewireless.ca/myweb/weskeysPawzitive Attitudes Dogzone Canine Training Centrewww.pawzitiveattitudes.comAdd an event to the DogEvents Calendar!www.dogevents.ca
