Floy clears her throat
Floy smiles at everyone
Ficta turns and listens to Floy.
Floy steps forward, "I would first like to thank you all for coming,
to share this moment with Ficta." smiles warmly. "We druids believe in balance and there is no greater symbol or teacher than nature and we are glad to welcome Ficta into nature's arms."
Tharian smiles warmly and listens to Floy
Senco beams at Floy
Floy says, "Ficta has chosen three items that represents nature to her,
she will now present them.""
Ficta asks to Floy, "I'm up now then?"
Floy smiles at Ficta
Floy says, "it's all yours"
Mogil listens quietly.
Floy steps back
Ficta turns to face you all.
Lazon nods
Ficta says, "As I was walking back from beaches of Qualinos one day, I
stopped in the wood at a brook to drink. As I rested there, I
pondered the task Elyssia had hinted at and decided to take it upon
myself to choose things that would represent nature to me. Tokens if
you will."
Ficta says, "First, I picked up a pebble from the stream. This mote of
the earth is solid and unchanging, except to the influences of
other aspects of nature such as wind or rain. So I put this
pebble in my pack among the treasures I had already taken from the
beach."
Lazon unfolds his arms and places his arm on Shivas waist a grin on
his face
Ficta holds up a small, rounded stone pinched between her thumb and
forefinger and slowly passes it right to left before putting it down on
the ground before her.
Ficta says, "One of thoe treasures was an oyster shell. And I thought
about the lesson this small creature offered to me. It's shell
is hard, allowing it to protect itself well in its environment. And
if a small annoyance gets inside like a grain of sand, the
oyster does not fight it, but rather over time coats it over and over
with softer considerations until what was an irritant becomes a
treasure, tempered with wisdom."
Ficta says, "I say wisdom meaning that you shouldn't let frustrations
and annoying people get you down, but find ways to learn from
them anyway, and turn a bad thing into a good one. That you can
learn from darn near anything, even if it's not immediately
apparant."
Ficta sets the shell down over the pebble, hiding it from view.
Ficta drops an oyster shell.
Ficta says, "Another day as I was wandering the north wood, rustling
through the needles that carpeted the ground, my foot came down
next to a pinecone. While many may dismiss this as commonplace, I
stopped to contemplate the deeper meanings this item holds. Like
any seed, this could remain asleep for years, but if I plant it in
the soil and water, allow it the sun and wind, it will come back
alive. And in time of need such as after a forest fire it will even
plant itself to replace that which was lost."
Lazon hmms
Ficta stoops to set a small pinecone, tightly closed, in place,
balancing it atop the shell.
Ficta asks, "But then I thought, these are all things that were readily
at hand in that moment. Are they truly the best representation of
all of nature, or am I merely being impatient again and seeing
nature in everything around me?"
Ficta grins
Cynna chuckles
Ficta says, "That answer is a little tricky, as I am always seeing
examples of the way things are all around me. Because everything in
the world has a place where it belongs. It's more a matter of seeing
what is already evident."
Neleron chuckles
Floy smiles
Rylee smiles
Ficta whispers to Floy.
Floy whispers to Ficta.
Ficta says, "The Waylumi teach tenets of vigilance and honor, courage
and valor, wisdom and love, generosity and compassion. These I
have in me as well, though I'm not so sure I'll ever have much
humility."
Ficta grins broadly.
Ficta says, "But I DO feel there are aspects of these virtues in us
all."
Ficta says, "The Dahkoar teach that knowledge lay within understanding.
That understanding lay within faith, within spirituality,
within the heart. That they should place no constraints on the
actions they pursue to achieve their goals."
Ficta says, "Again, these also are aspects within us all, albeit in
some to greater extent and others lesser, as they trust to their
instincts."
Ficta says, "I myself have always felt guided by my instincts, and it
is those instincts that I rely on here, today. Call them gut
feelings or heart leads or what you will, it was they that led me to
seek out those of the circle."
Ficta says, "What I seek to devote myself to today is the constant.
That everything has a place, and that my place is somewhere
along the path neither wholly in the darkness nor the light, but at
times along either."
Ficta nods at Floy
Floy smiles at Ficta
Floy says, "Very well said"
Floy says, "Ficta will you please join me in walking the sacred
circle.""
Dracante whispers to Firlefix.
Floy walks to the East stake and says to Ficta, "May your breathing
be deep and relaxed. May you breathe in power with every breath you take. Blessed be each breath you take."
Ficta walks to stand beside Floy at the first stake.
Floy walks to the south stake and turns to Ficta "Blessed be the fire
inside you. May your will be unbroken. And may it be as strong as fire, and as supple. May your passions burn truly and free. Blessed be your fire, may it burn strong."
Ficta thinks I don't think that'll be a problem for me.
Floy walks to the west stake and says to Ficta, "Blessed be the
waters of your life. May your blood be strong. May the flow from your loins be joyful and fertile. May your will be as strong as water, and as supple. Blessed be the waters of your life. Blessed be your body. May your muscles be strong and fearless. May your heart beat with love, soul, vigour and courage. Blessed be your body. Blessed be your spirit. May you always have health in spirit."
Ficta continues to trail just behind Floy as they walk to each
stake.
Floy walks to the north stake and turns to Ficta, "May you be whole.
Blessed be your spirit. May you always have community. May you be prosperous in all ways. May you love and be loved. May your voice -- both your complaints and your special offerings to the world-- be truly heard. May you always be surrounded by the warmth of family & community. May you know the innate goodness of your being. Blessed Be."
Floy smiles at Ficta
Ficta says, "Blessed Be."
Floy hugs Ficta
Floy walks to the altar and prepares it for the devotion.
Floy reads a Sign.
