WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD.
We can probably all hear Louis Armstrong singing as we read these words:
I see Trees of Green, Red Roses too.
I see them bloom for me and you and I think to myself
what a Wonderful World !
HOME SWEET HOME
As John Howard Payne wrote, in his opera, Clari, the Maid of Milan, ‘Mid Pleasures and Palaces though we may roam . Be it ever so humble there is no place like Home!’
WORLD TRADE?
"Whosoever commands the Trade of the World commands the Riches of the World and hence the World itself" (Sir Walter Raleigh) Our Sovereigns sent out fearless Explorers to discover New Lands and fabulous new Foods and Plants.
LITERATURE
Where would the world be today without Literature? The Bible is undisputedly the world’s best read book. It is rich in parables, using everyday things to illustrate a point. i.e. Song of Solomon Chapter 2: ‘For Lo the Winter has passed and the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth. The time of the singing of the bird has come.’
