Floating Chinars
This site was created in the first place by my friend, Marinela Kotsina, a Spirit guided astrologer in Athens. The name of the site is inspired by a poem,' The Floating Post-Office' by Agha Shahid Ali, a Kashmiri poet whose poems about Kashmir are as well known to every Kashmiri as the name, Chinar.
Over the years, we have shifted, changed and moved things a bit, but the basic aim remains the same.
This is a place where I can share some of my poems, paintings and photographs with friends, family and those who land here, through chance!
A number of the paintings are acrylic on canvas, and the poetry pages are divided into different sections.
There are memories of Kashmir in every page..Kashmir, where I grew up, lived all through my childhood and eventually left the Valley to pursue higher education. It took me 23 long years to get a chance to visit Kashmir again...there were years of insurgency and disturbances that kept many of us away from the home we remember.
