Steve Glenney at Southern Forest Rally, South Australia
Welcome to Frank Kutsche's website of Ice Hockey (the 'sticks') and Motorsport (the 'stones') photos
I have followed Ice Hockey in Adelaide, South Australia for over 25 years, starting at the Payneham Ice Rink and later at Thebarton's Ice Arena (formerly Mt. Thebarton). I have only taken photos for the last four years. I have taken countless photos at car rallies and Hillclimbs for many years. This website presents several galleries of these photos for you to enjoy with the current focus on ice hockey. If you are interested in any particular ones contact me.
Many good players have come and gone from the Adelaide teams, so please inspect the 2005, 2006 and 2007 photo galleries to check up on your favourite past and present Adelaide Avalanche players. More recently there are Adelaide A's players and local ice hockey from 2008. The Adelaide Assassins women's ice hockey team have been added to the website in 2008. Ice Hockey and other ice sports in Adelaide are played at the Ice Arena at Thebarton. In 2009 the Adelaide Adrenaline replaces the temporary team Adelaide A's in the Australian Ice Hockey League.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN GOODALL CUP TEAM WINNING THE 100th ANNIVERSARY GOODALL CUP
The tournement was reduced to SA, Victoria and WA (GFC related?). Nonetheless it produced some of the closest fought games in recent history of the competition with good hard-hitting, exciting hockey. All teams finished with 2 wins apiece with WA taking out the For-Against scores for the minor round. SA stepped it up in the Grand Final and looked to be on top right from the outset, gaining a 2-0 upper hand. In the 3rd period the score was 3-1 but with less than 2mins to play SA took 2 penalties resulting in a 3-on-5 play, but held firm to take out the classic.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ADELAIDE ADRENALINE ICE HOCKEY TEAM WINNING THE 2009 AIHL GRAND FINAL
Adelaide Adrenaline and the Newcastle Northstars played off in the Grand Final on 30 August 2009 after Adelaide beat the Melbourne Ice 6-1 and Newcastle disposed of the plucky Gold Coast Bluetongues 5-3 in the semi finals on 29 August. The GF went into overtime after Adelaide had played a strong game and Newcastle goalie Matt Ezzy held firm with the teams locked at 2-2 at the end of regulation time. Newcastle gave up a penalty late in the third so that Adelaide had an advantage in the 10minute sudden death decider. Adelaide scored less than a minute in to take out the AIHL championship for the first time since 2001....a long time between drinks and now means Adelaide has won 3 championships in 10 years to quote captain Greg Oddy! Vince Morgan, Greg Oddy and Cass Delsar (or was it Luke Thilthorpe that scored the winning goal?) were the goal scorers for the Adrenaline, who outshot the North Stars 34 to 17 in the game (source: www.theaihl.com.au).
This means that Newcastle continues the hoodoo of the minor premiers never having won the Grand Final in the AIHL. Wished I had been there!!!!

Vincent Morgan not pictured joined the team late in the season.
