Well, I got into fish about 8 years ago, when I was 7, I was in a HUGE Walgreen’s and saw a small (about 1/2 gallon) square plastic tank in which live like 3 guppies. It was only about 15 bucks, so I got it. I didn’t pay for it, my mom did, but she never thought that getting that 15-dollar tank would change my life. Everyday I would stare at the fish, but in about a week the food ran out. So me and my mom went to a local fish store, to get some more food. Once I entered the store, the whole life changed, I saw all the different fish, I thought I was in heaven (though at the time I didn’t even really know what it was ). That day I got 2 goldfish and they lived in a flower vase, (sounds mean but common I was only like 8) They died a few days later. I still remember that day; I spent the whole day crying in front of that fish, hoping that it will come back to life. Well it didn’t so we had the whole family come and I set up a funeral for it, (ok it sounds stupid but I really loved that fish). About a week later we went to a local petco and got a 10g tank (which I still have today, with no leaks) And over a 3 year timeline, I had almost every single FW fish live in that tank for some portion of that time. I have a cool looking green eel fish that lived threw all those years, it was my favorite fish of all, but my mom still to this day that it was a snake . Sadly it died and that really depressed me. Lets get a little off topic, a little after the eel died I got a big feeder goldfish, and put it in a 4g-salad bowl, it lived for a year and jumped out. When I found it, it was all dried-up on one side, but I tossed it in the bowl (maybe it would live) For about 2 weeks the fish just laid there on the bottom, everyone told me to throw that stupid thing away, but I didn’t. Then about 2 1/2 weeks after it lay motionless, I bumped into the bowl and it moved (I was amazed, and my mom was in shock). The fish slowly recovered and lived for about 2 more years before it died. That recovery really got me into fish. When I turned 12 I got a 25g tank, that I made a cichlid tank. I did a lot of research and set it up, it turned out to be a really good tank. I got a little bored of it over time, and wanted to make it into a SW tank, but like all newbs, I thought it was really hard to keep one. So I did about 1/2 year research before even getting all the stuff for it. Then I finally set it, and had problems from the very start, the first fish I got had ich, messing it all up from the beginning. Now the tank is up and running as a FOWLR with a clownfish, firefish, royalgramma, a featherduster, and a cleaner shrimp. I also, breed gups and sell to LFS, and on Aquabid. I am also setting up a 55g cichlid tank, and a 20g mini-reef. That’s basically how I got into fish-keeping. I had fun writing this, and hope you enjoy it and maybe remember how you got into fish-keeping too.

I started keeping fish 9 years ago when I was 6 and started with a 10gallon with 4 goldfish most did but one feeder fish did not so after that we got a 29gallon with more goldfish And we have had an assortment of tanks and tropical fish since then I have had mostly brackish and coldwater but also some tropical communities and African cichlids
I am saving up for a 65gallon for a freshwater moray and am thinking about stocking my empty 29 gallon with 2 dragon gobies.
