Extra Information: 40620 was new to Leeds Cityline, in Yorkshire and transferred down to Southampton in 2004. 40620 was transferred to Hilsea depot in April 2011 and is the only one of its type to have ever worked from Hilsea depot. 47015 has been placed into service from Hilsea depot. We are not sure if this is a temporary move or permanent.

Marshall bodied Dart SLFs: The Marshall bodied Dart SLFs were all originally in service with First in London, having moved to FHD either directly or via First in Berkshire (41165/6). 41136/7/634/8 originally entered service at Hoeford, numbered 643-6 respectively in 2003 before moving to Hilsea in February 2004, with 41165/6 arriving initially at Portswood in 2007 before moving to Hilsea in Autumn 2008. These usually see service either on route 3 (Paulsgrove - Southsea), or route 6 (Gunwharf - Tipner/Hilsea) but can show up on some of the city services. Since the beginning of 2010, 41136, 41137, 41635, 41638 and 41641 have been withdrawn from service and scrapped. New Marshall bodied Dart SLFs for Hilsea are 2 MPD-length examples - 41346 and 41348 - which have been acquired from Cymru (new to London), along with longer 41387. Former London, Devon & Cornwall and Cyrmu 41147 has also been acquired - this is the oldest Marshall bodied Dart SLF now in service from Hilsea.

Plaxton bodied Dart SLFs: The 2010 withdrawn Darts have been replaced by the ex-Hong Kong Dennis Darts - all the ones with Pointer 2 bodies listed above. 40956/7/9 were imported to Edinburgh, where 42759/78/83 went to Eastern Counties initially. They are were acquired from Devon & Cornwall in May 2010 (40959/42759) Autumn 2010 (the remainders). 40956, 40957 and 42783 have since been transferred to Hoeford. 41515 is on loan temporarily at Hoeford.

Extra Information: Hilsea operate 3 Optare Solos, with 2 per day specifically serving route 45A (City to Denmead via QA Hospital). 53151 originated with FHD at Hoeford as number 734, before gaining 51239, and settling on fleetnumber 53151. 50277/8 arrived from First in Bradford early in 2004 for operation at Hoeford, before moving to Hilsea to consolidate the type in 2005, when joined by brand new 53140. 53140, the only Solo new to Hilsea, operates from Portswood nowadays.

Extra Information: Hilsea has mix bunch of Mercedes-Benz Varios. 50299/300/3 were acquired back in 2006 as Iveco replacements, originating with First in Halifax. During 2007 a further 5 examples arrived from First Midland Red, part of a large 64-strong batch originally, numbered 52513/7/553/8-60. These were finally joined in 2008 by 3 ex-First Essex Mercedes-Benz Varios - 52580/1/3 - the first examples with Marshall Master bodywork to enter service at Hilsea. These can usually be found on city services 13, 14, 15, 16 and 19, along with Cosham Town services 8, 9, 11 and 12. 52585 is also new to Essex and has recently been transferred from Empress Road.

Extra Information: First HD operate 8 Mercedes-Benz 709D from Hilsea depot. 51710/23/6 were all acquired new to First Provincial back in 1995/6, and have moved from Hoeford to Hilsea. All now wear Barbie livery, and can be mainly found either on the Portsmouth City or Cosham Town services.

Further Information: The Volvo B7RLEs were delivered in Spring 2009 replacing Scania Omnicity single deckers on routes 40 and 41. Some are branded with Zip livery - the special branding for route 41. Another further 7 are branded with Overground Green branding for route 40, which was done at a later date. In October 2009, 69393 transferred to Plymouth to begin the new services in competition with Plymouth Citybus, and in its place came former Somerset & Avon 66955. This has now been reversed, and 69393 is back at Hilsea. 69457 is on loan from First Bristol for a week.
