Unusual Art to Wear

I've been busy...

My biggest problem is remembering to take pictures of what I have done before my pieces have moved on to a new owner..

.This is a piece I call "Little Fish Big Hook".

It is made of fine silver and with a wool necklace. I made the wool necklace by spinning merino wool on a drop spindle and then felting it.

The pendant and hook are fine silver from PMC. I used a technique called "Champleve".

Champleve, in this case, involved washing out layers of the PMC prior to fireing it, creating a design with layers. I then fired the pendant in my kiln.

After that I layered in glass enamel and returned it a number of times ( lost count...) to the kiln.

This one I call "Mother Moon".

I created it while attending class with Kevin Lin at Flo Valley College, St. Louis MO. this past Spring....

Kevin is a great teacher and I'm taking another class with him for Fall semester.

"Mother Moon is made of sterling silver, gold filled wire and Turquoise. I used my rolling mill to create the back ground pressing the design into annealed stering silver.

As soon as I get pictures made I'll post other creations inspired by Kevin's class.

This one is called "StarGate".

The pendant is PMC with glass enamel. The neckace and clasp are sterling silver and were fun to make.

Lately I've been working on Viking Knit chains...(pictures to come)

"The Sorcerer's Ring"...

This ring is made of PMC, Lapis and plique a jour at each corner...It is comfortable to wear even though its a little hefty...

I'm now making my ring shanks out of sterling and I'm getting pretty good at setting stones...

I've, of course, got to get pictures made of them...

Tomorrow...
