Coloured Field Service Caps

All coloured field service cap were privately purchased, non-issue items, and so could be as good or as poor quality as the wearer was willing to pay for.  However, officers would generally buy better quality caps than the other ranks, and some regiments specified gold or silver piping for their officers' caps, as opposed to plain yellow or white for the other ranks. 

Therefore we are able to offer 'officer quality' caps for a few selected regiments.  These are made of melton wool, which is much smoother than the other ranks' caps.  Doeskin caps are also available for certain regiments.  Officers' caps are supplied with your choice of brass GS buttons, bronzed GS buttons, or flat plain brass or silver coloured buttons, which were favoured by some yeomanry and volunteer units.  We regret we are not yet able to supply caps with regimental buttons.  Gold / silver / other coloured piping can be added by request.
