Coloured Field Service Caps

We can supply coloured field service caps for the majority of British infantry regiments, as well as some Canadian regiments.  Just some of the caps available are shown below.  Please e-mail if you have a specific request.

East Yorkshire Regiment

East Yorkshire regimental cap, with maroon top half and black sides, with white piping around the crown.  Available made from wool or felt, and supplied with brass GS buttons.

Essex regiment coloured field service cap, with purple top half and dark blue sides.

Gloucestershire Regiment

Gloucestershire regimental cap; dark blue with pale yellow crown, and red piping around the crown and sides.  Available made from wool or felt, and supplied with brass GS buttons.

Hampshire regiment cap made of dark blue wool, with yellow crown and yellow piping to the sides.  Supplied with brass GS buttons.

Made of dark red wool with pale yellow crown and piping to the sides.  Supplied with brass GS buttons.

Light Infantry Regiments

Standard field service caps for most Light Infantry regiments, similar to those for Rifle regiments but with no piping round the crown.  These caps are made of dark 'rifle green' wool, with brass GS buttons. 

Regiments that wore this coloured cap include: Somerset Light Infantry, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, King's Shropshire Light Infantry.

Monmouthshire Regiment

Monmouthshire regiment cap made in either wool or felt.  Dark blue, with white piping round the crown, peak and sides.

Note:  The 1st Battalion of the Monmouthshire regiment became 68 (Monmouths) Searchlight Regiment RA(TA) in August 1940.  It is unclear if they would have kept their own regimental pattern cap, or adopted the Royal Artillery cap.
