Announcements:
FRESHMEN - Welcome to high school! Looking forward to getting to know all of you. Remember to review your summer readings. Annotating the novels is a great idea. English is now a survey of World Literature. We will write, read, discuss and enhance vocabulary all in one class now. FYI: You are expected to check this site regularly. Sometimes I get bonus questions from this page.
JUNIORS - Welcome back to my class. We are in a new location, but most things are the same with my teaching style. The content for this year is American Literature. We will begin with the settlers (John Smith) and finish with more contemporary pieces (A Confederacy of Dunces). Looking forward to a good year with you, too.

(Hint: Instead of purchasing dividers, use manilla folders. Cut a folder in half on the fold, and punch 3 holes in the side with the tab. You will have an instant, sturdy divider for your binder!)
Discussion Board Etiquette and Expectations:
1. Do NOT create your own topic or a new thread. That is my job. Your job is to reply to my topic threads.
2. Use good grammar and standard English. Avoid online lingo and abbreviations. Remember this is an assignment; be professional.
3. Avoid using the discussion board as a blog, or a journal. This is not your private place to vent or whine.
4. Avoid insulting others, inappropriate themes, pictures or language.
* If you fail to adhere to any of the above in your discussion board posts, you will receive a zero for that assignment.*
Email me for missed work if you are absent (see link below).
