FHS -- Operate Achieve - Team G

Mrs. Nelson's Page

Welcome to my homepage.  Another new room.  I'll be in Room 514.  I hope this year will be even better than last year and I promise those darn ePortfolios will be easier to revise.  If you choose your attitude you can learn anything.  I will be posting some assignments, files you may download, and helpful links.  Check out the Test/Project Calendar page to find a combined list of projects/tests by subject area.

Here are some links I found that might be helpful as you search for your real world application
                                           Due Friday, December 11th!!!!!!!!
http://www.micron.com/k12/math/algebra/index - First Click the Standards button to find your topic or something close to your topic. Then go back to click on the actual company to see to problem and solution.  If you can't find your topic you may want to click on each company anyway to see the problem.  You may discover that looking at the solution shows you the type of math used which may be the same as your topic.

http://commons.bcit.ca/math/examples/ - Math example problems. Shows solutions.

http://www.whenwilliusemath.com/ - Lists lots of careers, math education required for degree, how math is used in that career.  Does not show actual math problems used by these career professionals. You may need to find someone to interview or search for a problem matching their description.

http://www.maa.org/careers/profiles.html - Career profiles written by real professionals.  Great for background info, but does not provide sample problems.  You may need to find someone to interview or search for a problem matching their description.
