Vocal Song Reviews
I probably don't have to say this, but these reviews are all based purely on my opinion. Musical tastes vary, of course, but for those who have never heard some of these songs, this will perhaps give an idea of what they're like.

Yuna & Tidus album FFX Vocal Collection FFX-2 Vocal Singles

feel/Go Dream ~ Yuna & Tidus

1) feel (9.5/10)
Based on Inori no Uta (Song of Prayer/Hymn of the Fayth). This song has a very ethereal quality to it, and though Aoki Mayuko isn't the strongest of singers, her very pretty voice lends to the dream-like sound of this track. I really adore this song. It's one of my favorites out of the FFX/X-2 character vocals.

2) Go Dream (7/10)
This one's an upbeat rock song based off of Tidus' Theme. Morita Masakazu's vocals are not at their best in this song, sounding a bit strained at times, but it's not terrible in the least. The song sounds a bit hollow, but I do enjoy listening to it . Though not my favorite of the character vocals, it's still a nice song, if not a bit forgettable.

3) Endless Love, Endless Road (8/10)
A duet of sorts between Yuna & Tidus, that's not based on any game from the song as far as I can tell. It's a really sweet song, but because the lyrics really bring out the meaning, listening without understanding the words may make the song seem boring. The two don't sing together too many times in the song, but the times they do are really the highlight for me. A good song to listen to when in a mellow mood.

Final Fantasy X Vocal Collection

2) Namida no Ato ni (7/10)
There's a heavy synth sound behind the vocals that make this song sound like a karaoke track (ie: the type of quality you'd expect to hear when you go to sing karaoke). That one point drags the quality of the song, but the melody itself is nice enough. A mellow, mid-tempo track from Yuna that goes well with the lyrics. It took me a few listens to appreciate the song, though.

4) A Ray of Hope (8/10)
When listening with headphones, the opening of this song makes me dizzy. @_@ Anyway, a mid-tempo dramatic-feeling track from Tidus with a nice beat. Morita Masakazu's vocals are great in this song. This one also took me a couple of tries to get used to, but I really enjoy it, now. I prefer it to "Go Dream."

6) And On We Go (9.5/10)
I loved this Tidus/Wakka duet from the first listen. Nakai Kazuya is a lot better singer than I would have expected. ^_^ Anyway, this song makes me think of something Kinki Kids would sing (It's particularly similar in style to recent single "Ne, Ganbaru yo," IMHO), so if you like Kinki Kids' upbeat ballad-type songs, you'll probably like this. Morita's vocals are just superb, and as mentioned before, Nakai's performance is surprisingly good. I also particularly enjoy the steel drums in the chorus which add a bit of a calypso feel.

8) Get Happy! (7.5/10)
15 year-old, happy-go-lucky Rikku. This song fits that image very well. It's upbeat and cute and toe-tappingly catchy. And it manages to be all that somehow without also bordering on being annoying. All in all, a very enjoyable song that will put you in a good mood.

10) All The Way (7/10)
Yuna, Rikku, and Lulu singing together in an upbeat, poppy song. Natsuki Rio has a nice voice, but it seems strained. Actually, Matsumoto Marika's voice also seems strained at parts. I think out of all the character vocals, this song is the lowest in terms of vocal performances. That's not to say that it's terrible, but it is something that's noticable. Regardless, though, after a few listens, the song becomes fun to listen to.

12) Rasen (reading) (9.5/10)
A reading by Auron, with music in the background. The music is very cool and I wish there had been a version of it without Ishikawa Hideo's voice. It starts off with a piano piece that quickly encorporates rock sounds with a bit of a synthesized flair. It's kind of..."To the End of the Abyss" meets "Auron's Theme" meets "Otherworld" meets a bit of the 007 theme. *lol* If you can imagine an amalgam of all those songs. As far as the actual "vocals" themselves, they go along nicely with the music, though honestly I'm listening to the background more.

14) feel-Remix (9.5/10)
This remix took the original song and stepped up the tempo, adding a very nice beat and turning it into a dancable tune. Though the original melodic line which added the dreamy quality to the original is removed, there is a piano line in between the verses of this version which adds a nice, similar fantasy quality to the song. I really do enjoy this remix, as it takes a great song and now makes it appropriate for a more upbeat mood. I would go as far to say that I like this remix equally as much as the original, though in different ways.

Final Fantasy X-2 Character Singles

Yuna
1) Kimi he. (8.5/10)
A pretty vocal version of "Yuna's Ballad." Though with a few rough spots, Aoki Mayuko gives a very beautiful, emotional performance. A lovely song that captures many emotions including sorrow and hope and is able to make me cry. Gets better each time you listen to it. I started off liking "Morning glow" much more, but it's since grown on me so that I like them about equally.

2) Morning glow (9/10)
A great vocal version of "Kuon~Hikari to Nami no Kioku~." My only complaint is that because the vocal version is so great, I don't enjoy the original song as much anymore! ^_^; It's got fitting lyrics that capture Yuna's emotions as she goes through her journey. I would say that what "feel" was to the first game, "Morning glow" is to X-2.

Rikku
1) Hadashi no Kiseki (8/10)
This one really took some time to grow on me. At first I was a little put off by the quirkiness of the song, but the charm of Rikku's character is really evident and eventually won me over. Now, I really enjoy it. The lyrics are fun and it's simply very...Rikku.

2) Without you (8.5/10)
An emotional song that starts off slow and wistful but then speeds up a little. There's something about this song that I really like, but I can't quite put my finger on it. It's not quite what you'd expect from a character such as Rikku, yet it strangely fits. It shows the mature side of her.

Paine
1) Nemuru Omoi (10/10)
This song is awesome. I have absolutely no complaints about this song. Toyoguchi Megumi is by far the best singer out of all the female seiyuu and it really shows in this song. She tackles this jazz number with skill and the product is a treat for the ears. Of course, if you don't like jazz music, you probably won't like this song. If you do, you'll probably love it.

2) Misty Eyed (6.5/10)
This song could have been great, but as it is, it falls a little short. Once again, Toyoguchi Megumi's vocal performance is superb and most of the song is good. However, the strange chords produced by the harmony in the repeating "Someday I want to feel you close..." as well as some other small lines of the song are just too jarring. If you can get used to them, though, this song is another jazzy number you will enjoy.
