Right, so, most of Kelly's babies have been homed. There's just one little Sable girl left.
The rescue-rat's litter have also found homes and there's only 3 boys and a girl left from that litter. The mother, now named Dana, actually helped us out by fostering a 7-day-old baby wild rat right after her own litter was weaned. Sadly, the little wild rattie didn't survive, but Dana was brilliant! She fed the baby beautifully and kept her very snug and warm. After the baby died, Dana was rehomed, along with one of her daughters (now named Athena) at Runebound Rattery.
My Siamese Dumbo rat arrived in good order and has settled very well with the other rattie residents. Her name is Runebound Venus.
The cages in the shop are getting an upgrade soon, which will mean that our range of birds can increase.
The fishtanks are also being redone and once they're finished, a few brackish water and malawi tanks can be set up.
With it being the Easter weekend and all, we have a new boarder; a rabbit named Pikkie. It's lovely to see him again, as he was bought from us when we still stocked rabbits, about two years ago. He's a real sweetheart.
Well, that's the last months updates.
Happy (belated) Easter everyone and if you're travelling, be safe.
Regards, Michele
Well, Kelly's babies will be ready to go up for sale soon. They're looking really cute.
The rescued rat's litter are doing well and three have homes lined up already. They'll be ready for sale at the end of next week. They're all really tame and cuddly.
It so turns out that Cleopatra wasn't pregnant. She was just fat. So she's been put with Hades again, in hopes of a litter of Blue carriers.
We're due to get in some really beautiful lovebirds from a lady. There's white and yellow. Can't wait for those!
I'm also getting Anubis' sister in two weeks. She's a Siamese Dumbo. I'm really excited!
Well, that's the news this week.
Anubis has now allowed Hades back into the hammck and they've become good friends.
Kelly's babies have opened their eyes and are now wondering around the cages. There's 3 Sables and 3 Dark-eared Whites. They're really very cute!
The rescued rat's litter are now showing their colours. The kits previosly thought to be Pink-eyed Whites have turned ut o be champagne selfs and champagne-hoodeds. There's 9 boys and 5 girls in the litter.
Cleopatra is also due to give birth any day. She was bred to Hades, so the babies will be Black-hoodeds and Black berks, but will be carrying the blue gene.
We've got some new handraised baby birds in the shop: a green ringneck and a cockatiel. They're both very cute and the cockatiel is showing a good chance of talking; he's really vocal!
