Welcome to the internet project Hulda - Feminist Theology! Hulda
is a private project of
Rebecca Unsoeld.
Hulda was a female
prophet. You can read her story in II. Kings 22,14-20. When the
central chapters of the book Deuteronomy were presented to the
king and the high priest for the first time the king and priests
went to find Hulda. They asked Hulda to
find out if the content of the scrolls presents the will of God. Hulda had the authority to answer the request
of these mighty men: Her positive answer found respect and
started a reformation of enormous weight within the young Jewish
community before the Babylonian exile.
I offer Hulda on the web for those who are interested to find more information and ressources about Christian and Jewish theology and religion. The name Hulda is the programme: The prophet Hulda is a shining example for Christian and Jewish women.
Last not least you are encouraged to mail a note if you know other places of interest for Hulda which have not been linked so far. In common hints will have the result that the new link becomes included ;-)) You might be especially interested to make use of the section "Current workshops, meetings, conferences, summer schools and more": Mail your WWW-address on your current activity and the link will be there!
I added a German bibliography of books interested in feminist theology to my homepage which might be of interest for those who read German. The English bibiliography of english titles in feminist theology now includes links to Amazon.com. Taking part in the amazon associates program is a help to finance this internet platform. Your order through this page helps to continue this work in future.
If you like to please contact me through the contact form. Usually there will be a reaction on your mail, if it is somehow in connection with the topics of Hulda, although I am sometimes slow with my answers ... sorry for that. There will be no reaction on mails which criticise the issue of Hulda itself. The reason is the first purpose of Hulda: Connecting existing initiatives, groups, institutions and other groups interested in feminist theology which offer homepages in the internet. But the aim is not a fundamental dispute with those who disagree. Anyway you can find links to this fundamental dispute on Hulda especially in the section "discussion".
