Alright lads,
Just wanted to say what a bloody performance today excellent each and everyone of you. If you want to go to training, it is on Tuesday at 7:30 at Orwell High School sports hall so if you can make it why not come along.
Hey all,
Its Mike I will be updating the website from now on with the latest information. Any suggestions, let me know! As you all no last week was a bit of a joke. So this week we better get fired up and go up there with a positive mentality and make sure were all up for it. Jay will let you know about the infomation for the game on Saturday so see all on Sunday.
Big moan here boys
TRAINING!!!! As Rossy knows it doesn't pay for its self, the club doesn't have enough funds to pay for it so we rely on your guys turning up and thats not happening. It costs £120 a month to hire the sports hall and at present we're getting maximum 6 a week. There is no way we can afford to pay the hall with that many.
At the moment the hall is still booked but i will have to cancel the booking if people don't attend
Congratulations to Daryl James who reached 10 goals for the season last weekend, it shows how impress we've been playing if Daz can reach double figures in just 2 months
Yes yes yes, i know Maff's useless, never updates the website, blah blah blah
Well it seems as though it only happens every month (see dates) but i do genuinely mean to keep this as up to date as possible
Just realised its over a month since i last typed something on the club news, shame on me
Ok well heres whats new
Pre season has now passed and we finished with 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats which is not bad considering all the new players who have joined, special mention to all of them for fitting in so quickly and impressing. Really think this year could be a brilliant season for the club as a lot of missing componants are now in place.
Please can everyone welcome our latest signing Gary to the club, in the game which Gary played in pre season it looks likely that the club has signed yet another top player and it adds to the competition for places
Training has now moved to Tuesday nights at Orwell High School at 1930hrs, please can everyone who is planning to attend pay me £10 this weekend, this is only a deposit and if everything works out then you will get this back at the end of the season, subs each week is £3, please tell your friends because the more people who come the better
Finally, i have come up with an idea for the funding an end of season do, if everyone is willing to pay £1 a week then we can save up and hopefully reduce any financial impact come the end of season. If i've done my sums correctly then we could have up to £500 in place come April. I will explain more on Sunday for those who are interested.
Just a quick note, training is now every Wednesday evening at 6.30 at the Grove, poor turnout last night, maybe due to aching bones from sunday, hope theres no niggles for the Harpers match
Well a highly promising performance in our first friendly of the new season, 1-1 didn't reflect how well we played at times. Must say well done on brilliant first performances for 2 of our new summer signings, think most people agree Deano & Chris look likely to be fantastic signings
Suffolk Sunday Trophy has been drawn, we've managed to land a first round draw against Bawdsey Freight at home, this game is due to be played on 07/09, our first competitive weekend of the season, so pre season is even more important this year
New Features will be appearing on the site over the next few days, firstly i have added a new Fixtures Calender tab, this will show all our fixtures on a yearly calender and if you click on the date there will be further details, including time of kick off, team line up, scorers and there is also a comments box for you to be able to add your own match comments. (please note match reports will appear on a seperate page)
This weekend is the first pre-season friendly against Felixstowe Wanderers, its important we get off to a good start to get confidience high in time for the beginning of the season. Kick Off is 2pm so please meet in the car park at the Grove at 13:20
League AGM is on 24th June
As usual Felixstowe Athletic will be present to find out what league we're in next season and who we'll be playing, friendlies will be arranged hopefully that night so watch this space for updates
Don't know about you guys but its felt like a long time since we last kicked a ball in anger and im pleased to say that the new season is rapidly approaching, watch this space for news about training, friendlies, signings etc.
The website has had a bit of a revamp, massive thanks to Rossy for looking after it for the last few seasons, its been greatly appreciated, if at times a little out of date!!
Anyway hope you all are enjoying your summer break and hopefully see you ready for pre season training
Maff
