Long Beach Int'l Airport

Welcome!

On July 27th, 2006 the city of Long Beach opened Long Beach Int"l(KLBI). It handles 100+ passenger flights and 10 cargo flights every day. Its a stop for major International airlines like Northwest, Lufthansa, and United. Domestic carriers include Southwest, United Express and Delta. Parts of the original Long Beach Airport were used in the construction of KLBI. The airport is part of the Green Earth Alliance

September 7, 2008- SWA flight#624 on a Long Beach-Chicago-New York route disappears of radar near Columbus, Ohio.

July 29, 2008- Earthquake hits L.A. Area. Minor damage at airport.

July 2, 2008- LBI joins Green Earth Alliance

April 5/6, 2008- Boeing 787 plant completed with successful first flight. Plant was later closed down.

April 4, 2008- Private TWA Super Constellation crash on taxiway while trying to make an emergency landing
