fancygens.com Chapter 1- "Elly, are you really going to leave?" I paused to think. Words stumbled out of my mouth, "I don't want to go_" I struggled to continue. "But I have to." I actually wasn't quite sure if leaving was the right thing to do. In fact, a part of me thought that I was doing the wrong thing. But, I forced myself to go against my instincts and leave that place. I didn't even know where to go. I really don't know why I wanted to leave. I caught a glimpse of Ryan's sulky face. He looked so sad that I was leaving. Well, of course he did. I'd known him since kindergarten. Trying not to focus on Ryan, I turned my attention to the car window. The raindrops were so light and carefree. They didn't have to worry about anything. About 7 little raindrops bumped into each other, forming a big rain drop. The huge raindrop slid down the window, and as it slid, I saw Ryan's face in the reflection. Ugh, the plan to try to not focus on Ryan was NOT working. "Where are you going to go anyway?" He gave me a funny look. I giggled, making him smile. Hugging him, I exclaimed, "You're so awesome, Ryan!" I said. He nodded in response. His smile was so friendly. And, his eyes smiled too. "Can we drive to your house?" I asked, playing with my hair. "Not in this weather!" He said. I glanced out the window. "Wow!!! Last time I checked, it was drizzling! Now it's a big thunderstorm!"
That night, still during the thunderstorm, I slept on Ryan's lap. We were telling each other stories and I guess I fell asleep. Never before had we been so close. That was the night that changed practically everything between us. It was almost like... we were in love.
