18.04.2006 - FCA vs Longfordians

FCA's most recent work experience placements - John Gage and Shane Hoban - deserve a mention on this website. Since their arrival on the premises, both have been keen in adopting FCA's work ethos and have provided great support for existing staff. Special thanks goes out to them for their work in the following fields (nomination music please...) computer maintenance, computer hardware installation, fundraising research, research into the media, artistic design and interpretation, maintenance and preparation of building, and of course; photocopying. On a more serious note, their work here has been a great help to the organisation through a tough period.

14.03.2006 - FCA funding

A grant application put together by our Youth & Community Worker, John Hepple, has been turned down. The application, made to LloydsTSB, included plans to re-open the Youth Club before Spring, recruiting two new Youth Workers to fill gaps in provision. Unfortunately, the LloydsTSB Foundation could not find space in its budgets for FCA this turnover.

FCA Life Honorary President Les Currington was presented with a commemoration medal and lapel badge from the Football Association in recognition of 50 years service to football last night, 14th Feb 2006. Taking the podium with Les was dear friend Ken Mace, also supporter of the league for over 50 years. Congratulations extended to you both. (Ed)

Les' continued support of the West Middlesex Sunday Football League has previously seen him awarded the title Life Vice President of the league. Les is active in all areas of the community and always has been. In addition to his long service with FCA he also helps to run the local fishing club. It is a credit to Les that even through recent periods of ill health, he has continued to help out as much as possible in his voluntary roles.
