My love of 2nd gens started like a lot of people my age, playing with Hot Wheels. This Camaro was my first 2nd gen. It is still my favorite. 1970 was a year of dramatic changes for the Camaro. The new body style was released in February of that year, it is often called a "70 1/2". My '70 Camaro started life as a SS 396 big block car with the RS package. This was a rare combination of options. There were only about 1600 big block Camaros that year and even fewer that combined this with the "split bumper" RS appearance. It now has a 454 with Merlin Heads, Lunati Bracket Master 2 Cam, Dual Quad Edelbrock 600 cfm carbs, a B&M Competition TH400, 4.10 rear end, MSD electronics including billet distributor and soft touch rev-limiter, coated headers, sub-frame connectors, Pete Jackson gear drive, 2 trunk mounted Optima batteries, Be Cool aluminum radiator, Holley electric fuel pump, and Hurst Quarter Stick shifter. This is my Hot Wheels now.

This was my 2nd F-body. It's an Adriatic blue 403 with a TH350. I had to bolt the fenders on to drive it home about an hour away. My wife followed me in the truck with my tools. It wouldn't start at the gas station and she gave me this look like "we got screwed". I opened the hood and tightened the battery terminal, she fired right up. I spent every night that winter cleaning and upgrading it, often til 2 AM. My mods include a Crane Powermax cam and roller rockers, MSD ignition, Hooker headers, and forged pistons. I also dropped it about 2" with lowered front and rear springs along with relocating the rear spring perch. It has a 3000 stall and a brand new interior as well. I plan to drop it another inch or so, add subframe connectors, upgrade the disk brakes, add an aluminum radiator, and add Global West arms, swaybars, and bushings. Of course I also need to apply the hood decal! I have before and after shots of the interior in the Album section.
This is my newest 2nd Gen. It is a completely stock 1979 Z28 with a Borg-Warner T-10 4 speed. It came with every record and all the warranty information in the glovebox. I am going to clean it up and have it look just like it did when it left the showroom floor. I have begun freshening the engine compartment and added the 17" Boyds.
Here's my 4th Gen F-Bodies. They serve as my daily drivers for now.
They are 1999 SS # 284 with a T56 and 1996 WS6 Trans Am #941 with a 4L60.
