Picoo Z Sky Challenger Set
Gadget lover’s heaven! The two tiny (fit in the palm of your hand) remote control helicopters fire infra red beams to send their opponent crashing out of the sky. The helicopters are ultra-light for indoor flying and robust enough to take the inevitable crashing and plummeting. It takes a bit of practice to control them enough to make any attempt at shooting each other, but that makes a successful hit all the more satisfying. The two handsets are on different radio frequencies, and make machine gun noises as you fire. 2 spare tail propellers included. Requires 12 x 'AA' batteries. Helicopters 17cm.

Backwards Clock
The first thing you notice is that the second hand is going anti-clockwise. Then you realise that, although it all looked normal enough at first glance, only two of the numbers are where you would expect them to be. In fact the whole thing is set up to run backwards, and, once you are used to it, it's perfectly easy to read. The glass-fronted frame is 28cm in diameter, a large easy-to-read wall clock. It makes daily life a little more interesting, gives visitors something to wonder about, raises a smile. Not bad for a clock!

OWI973K - Line Tracker Robot - Advanced Soldering
|
"Hyper" yes, and we really mean it. This cyber bug possesses a sonic tracking system, and is fortified with a multitude of sensors: photo transistors to detect a black line, Tracking memory to memorize its last track of the black line, and two red LEDs that flash to tell you which side of the light sensor is activated. What this all means is that HYPER LINE TRACKER is the fastest line navigator that we have ever seen. HYPER LINE TRACKER follows a course of your own design! By using an infrared emitter, light sensor circuitry, and tracking memory, it demonstrates how robots "see" a pathway. Make a path with a black felt marker or black tape and watch how infrared sensors enable the robot's motors to make course corrections.

OWI9910 - Weasel Robot Non Solder Version
|
|
OWI's Weasel is a tenacious little robot warrior that embodies two sensors that allow it to “see” a line or “feel” its way along walls and around corners. The two motors and contact sensor activate the wall sensing micro switch to control the motors’ on/off operation that determines the path of a wall. It is the classic robot design using the “Left Hand Rule” to escape mazes. With OWI’s continued pursuit in making robots “smart”, they have added an additional feature to this little bundle of energy… a sonic tracking system. Underneath Weasel’s sturdy plastic base, you will discover photo- transistors that enable it to detect and follow a black line. Wow! Weasel still has more features! Want… speed? Well, its three-speed gearbox will help navigate at the velocity you determine.
Quick and easy to assemble, this is a beginner robot that make great entrants for robotic competitions, robotic workshops, after-school programs, special events, gifts, science enrichment camps, and classroom activities.

OWI979K - Moon Walker II - Beginner Soldering

|
Soldering Required / Soldering Iron, not included. This Kit presents an engaging opportunity to learn about some of the mechanics, operation and history of robots. When assembled, this robot uses a phototransistor to sense changes In light (such as turning on a lamp) and a condenser microphone to sense changes in sound (such as clapping). MOON WALKER II converts those stimuli into electronic signals to power a motor, and the robot walks forward for a preset time. When it stops, affecting another change in area light or sound may activate it again. The sensors may be adjusted for different sensitivity levels.

OWI972K - Spider III - Advanced Soldering

|
"Cool" just got even cooler with the invention of SPIDER III, the third generation in our quest to offer the most advanced design and technology available. With its radical walking style, this intelligent robot avoids interference. This robot teaches us to turn the other cheek when confronted in a challenging situation. SPIDER III emits a light sensor beam; detects bogus things in front of it, signaling it to change direction and continue on a new path of righteousness. Do you know why SPIDER III is so cool? It has more features and costs less than the older version. That's way cool! Man gropes his way in the dark. A bat flies in the dark sensing its own super-sonic wave reflecting back from obstacles. Likewise, SPIDER III emits light sensor rays and judges by the reflection if there are any obstacles in front and gives signals in the form of electric pulses to alter the rotating direction of the left side motor to evade obstacles.

OWI9762 - WAO Kranius Robot Kit
|
|
OWI introduces the fourth generation of WAO programmable robot kits and WOW is it spectacular! WAO Kranius is a two-wheeled robot that you can program without a personal computer. The intellectual brain consists of an 8 bit micro-controller and keyboard with 33 tactile buttons. This bundle of brains can store up to 60 programming steps and 30 FOR-NEXT multiplex loops. In addition to its futuristic and powerful design, it features 6 vision sensors to see in front and below the robot. The “eyes” that enable it to see in front of itself has two infrared LEDs and an infrared detector IC. 4 floor light sensors (CdS sensor) will enable it to distinguish the contrast of light underneath its shell.
Dr. Robot says this robot is more than just fun. Assembling, building, and following instructions help develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Because it’s programmable, one has to plan ahead, think systematically and logically, develop problem-solving skills, and will challenge you to think creatively.
Easy to assemble, this OWIKIT Intermediate building level robot makes a great entrant for robotic competitions, robotic workshops, after-school programs, special events, gifts, science enrichment camps, and classroom activities.
