If you can read this, you probably remember something of the 20th
century. From the invention of the Automobile to the Internet,
the 20th century was a time of great change.

| Obi |
|
A gorgeous example of a mid century Japanese obi. This obi is
most likely from the 1960's due to it's mixed fibers and wonderful gilt
fibers.

| Earth 20th C shoes |
|
These are a pair of late 19th c/early 20th c shoes. The soles are
handsewn leather. The tops are embroidered purple velve.t
Over the years, the velvet has faded from a rich violet to a pale
lilac. The embroidery suggest a middle eastren origin.
However, these were often exported to the west and these were found in
the eastren United States. One of the shoes has an old ink stain
on the top.

| Pick a century quilted hat |

This bonnet was last remade in the 1930's. The bullion
embroidery suggest and origin as early as the 18th c. The
red silk ribbon is late 19th c and the yellow and cream lace is from
the 1930's. There are bugle beades along the edge of the red
ribbon.
