Farm Camp 2008 FUN!!
Fun was had by all last year, here at Farm Camp! To the left, you can see they made a nice little fence for our chicks. They have also had fun watching our ducklings on our mini ponds outside and of course they love holding the baby bunnies. They've had fun bringing the pigs slop and watching them grow. And they think the huge bottles we gave to our calves were pretty funny! They loved it when our mini donkey Squeaker hee hawed at them for her food. And we were very lucky and had two pygmy goat kids born that the children adored. Also one of the kids favorite animals on our farm are all the little kittens wandering around!
The garden they are helped grow turned out great. The kids harvested a bunch of radishes, peapods, green beans, carrots, potatoes and Cucumbers!
All of the kids have made new friends and enjoyed making crafts together and playing games outside. They had fun doing some farm activities too: Making butter, Milking a pretend "cow", shelling and grinding field corn to make animal feed and they loved collecting the eggs!

Farm Camp Information
Farm Camp usually runs for 6 to 7 weeks in the summer.
Children sign up to come ONE day a week for the 6 weeks.
This way they can watch the animals and garden grow. I hold 4 Farm Camp classes, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Camp takes place from 9am to 1pm each day. Summer 2009 Farm Camp would Begin week of June 15th and run through July 31st. We will also have an open house early in June, for everyone to meet, check out the Farm and help plant the garden!
We always have a variety of Animals that the children help care for, play with and learn about each week. Last year we had a horse, Mule, Mini Donkey, Goats, sheep, Ducks, Cats, Pigs, Calves, Chickens, Turkeys and Rabbits.
Farm Camp is for children ages 3 1/2 to 9. I will enroll 10 -13 year olds as "helpers". The older kids seem to enjoy camp as much as the younger kids!
I have been doing Farm Camp for four years and it just keeps growing! Before I started Farm Camp I worked as a lead teacher for the 3 & 4 year old class at a day care center for 5 years. I also have done in home day care in the past. I also teach 3 year old Sunday School at my church.
Farm Camp is located in Conklin MI 49403. I run it out of my home and our small hobby farm. We are right next to a U-Pick Cherry Orchard and go and pick Sweet Cherries each year!
Important information: 4 Groups of kids: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 1pm
Kids come ONE day a week, over the summer
(6 classes for each group, starting in June ending in July early August)
It's for kids ages 3 1/2 to 9 & I also enroll helpers 10 -13 at discounted tuition rate
Tuition is usually right around $30 per day, per child
Farm Camp Summer 2009
Summer Farm Camp 2009 has started and is full. If you are interested in Farm Camp for next summer please email me and I will add your email address to my Farm Camp list. I usually open in enrollment in Early March and the younger kids spots usually fill by late March, early April, so get on my email list now if you want a spot next year!!
Week Long Farm Camp Program in August
This program is currently full for 6-9 year olds, still have 2 spots for 10-13 year olds. It runs August 3rd - 6th. This program will be for children ages 6-9 and I will enroll "helpers" 10 -13 as well. Time will be 9am -1pm each day. (with this program the same kids would attend for the whole week (4 days)) Registration fee of $25 per child plus tuition, $120 for 6-9 year olds and $70 for 10 -13 year olds.
Family Fun Nights
Week Nights, July & possibly August - 6:45pm to 8:30pm - $50 for the night
up to 6 kids and as many adults as you want. Reserve your family's date now -
(more kids can be added at an extra charge) (these are PRIVATE parties, you get the farm to yourself)

Bring your family for a night playing around on the farm!
Pony rides ~ Corn shelling/grinding ~ Cuddle with bunnies ~ Feed the hungry pigs and greedy goats ~ Free freshly popped Movie theater style popcorn ~ Give the calves a BIG bottle ~ Feed and watch the funny chickens ~ Hunt for eggs
Besides seeing the animals there are lots of other things kids can do too:
Swingset, Cornbox, Barrel Saddle, Big Chalkboard, Tricycles etc.
You can come just to relax with your family or bring along friends or cousins, even turn it into a party if you like!
$50 for the night, you can bring 6 kids and as many adults as you want. If you'd like to bring more kids it's an extra $5 per child, maximum number of kids you can bring is 10. After a quick tour and some rules the farm is yours for night and my husband and I will be providing the pony rides, popping corn and assisting you as needed. You are welcome to bring along your own drinks and food. (liability waivers will need to signed for all those attending) *ages 3 to 12 count as kids
Crafts and Critters!
This fall I hope to run a preschool type program for children ages 3 and 4 only. I will enroll 6 children and I will have an assistant. It will Start in September and run through the end of November. Kids will come two days every week. I may also run a 1 day a week program during this time. (not sure which days yet) Time will be
This program will have normal preschool type activities, including circle time, with stories and calendar, plenty of seasonal crafts, play time activities to help develop small and large motor skills, creativity and imaginative play, and cooperation/sharing and turn taking skills. We will also practice our colors and shapes and introduce ABCs and 123s. We will have indoor pets to care for, play with and watch and a few farm yard animals to take care of as well.
This program will be designed as an introduction to preschool. It will be best suited for children who are not yet ready for a classroom full of 12 to 20 kids and need a way to ease into preschool. Or as a supplement to regular preschool, if you want to keep your child busy learning and having fun on the days they don’t have preschool. .
