Joseph: I am happy to provide commentary for Emma (Emmatary!). It is
very difficult to talk about her without mentioning how much respect I have
for her. As is the case with all of my closest friends, I will never know how I
lived without Emma; we met at roughly the same time she debuted in Fantasmic
Kingdom: August of the year 2003. This means that Emma is celebrating her fifth
anniversary in Fantasmic Kingdom, and so it’s high time to talk about her! Since
I have already written commentaries for Hercules and Cinderella, I will just
focus on why Emma is one of my favorite role-players, as well as one of my most
beloved friends.
Timid, soft-spoken, exceedingly pretty and entirely feminine, Emma is among the sweetest, most caring ladies I’ve ever known. Add her 5’10” height into the mix, and you have a lady who’s even more unique. During the five years we’ve known each other, I’ve seen Emma as another elder sister; though we have our differences we have many similarities (our mutual, passionate love for Disney is perhaps our strongest). We have been through countless situations with each other in mind; there has been many times when one of us comforted another when life was rough, and we have talked to each other for hours on end just because I love talking to her (we once had a phone conversation that lasted over three hours. No joke!). And, to put it bluntly, Fantasmic Kingdom just would not be the same without her.
As a role-player, Emma is amazingly descriptive and articulate. She has the gift of typing posts that would make any amateur writer blush, and she applies lush, vivid description to her characters without effort (at least, it seems that way). Unlike me, a guy who role-plays nearly twenty characters in Fantasmic Kingdom, Emma only has three characters to her name. This is because Emma chooses precisely what character works best for her, so she can fully unleash the character’s potential and give them threads hell!
Funnily enough, Emma and I seem to role-play against type,
or at least when it comes to our primary characters. Emma plays as Hercules
while I play Alice. She is female and plays
a male, while I am male and play a girl. Also, Emma is far more elegant and
proper than I, as I am much more like a big blockhead than she. The only
similarity between Hercules and Alice against Emma and Joseph is that Hercules/Emma
is older than Alice/Joseph. (As a matter of fact, Emma is six months older than yours truly.)
Although Hercules and Alice is the Emma/Joseph pairing in Fantasmic Kingdom, I simply love playing
as any character with her. Emma is a beautiful, charming, loyal, wonderful
friend, and Fantasmic Kingdom would just not feel right without her. The same goes for life in general; life would not feel right without her.
So, Emma, I just want to personally say thank you. Thank you for everything. We have shared five years together, and I only wish that we’ll share many, many more. And thank you for moving to San Rafael; you live only two and a half hours away from I, but you also live only fifteen minutes away from Amanda! You have no idea how ideal that is for both of us, Emma Monster. (Joseph, July 2008)
Amanda: As long as I've known her, Emma has shown so much promise as a roleplayer, by leaps and bounds with each passing year. Her portrayal of Hercules is spot on, moreso than any other player I've seen attempt him, and I especially give her kudos on her roleplaying as Cinderella, which I admit would be a very tough part to swallow, even for myself. And, she may not be aware of it, but she also can be a VERY good villain, which was proven when she played "Beauty and the Beast"'s Gaston on another board for a very short time. Granted, it was a short-lived experience, but I happen to think she did exceedingly well at it...and believe me, I know how hard it is to play "the heavy"! On top of being a top-notch roleplayer, she is also a remarkable and very sweet friend, and one I am grateful to have met and known. I look forward to experiencing her roleplays and her friendship for many years to come.
