The old site will remain open, but it will eventually be locked, and therefore no one will be able to post anywhere there. This is because the old site will serve as The Fantasmic Kingdom Archives, to reference past events and such. What can you do? Either transfer your wanted threads to the new site or be satisfied with reviewing them in what will soon become the archives.
Currently, the longest in-character thread in Fantasmic Kingdom is A Quiet Country Evening.
