There is so much to love about the TV show Monk. The mysteries are compelling and challenging. The humor is offbeat and impeccable. And of course, the cast itself is talented in a striking way.
Much as been said about Tony Shalhoub, who plays Adrian Monk himself. The entire cast is truly magnificent, though. (I mentioned Jason Gray-Stanford elsewhere. He's a personal favorite.) I also love Ms. Traylor Howard, who plays the delightful Natalie Teeger. I think that she complements Monk very well.
People often ask "Natalie or Sharona?" Sharona was great, but I honestly don't miss her much. I think that Natalie is much better for Monk, especially since she's less biting and can empathize with Monk a lot more.
And heck, she's even cute. Not your typical beauty queen, but cute in a very sweet sort of way.
Oh, and I love the chemistry that she has with Randy Disher. Always fun.
