Beneath Randy Disher
Ya just gotta love this guy. Jason Gray-Stanford plays Randy Disher, the heroic yet strangely addled police lieutenant on TV's Monk. Jason provides just the right level of comedic touch to the show, wonderfully complementing Monk's own humorous antics.
The guy is often played as rather dim-witted, but despite his cockamamie crime theories, he clearly has a brain in that skull. His brain works in strange ways, but apart from his mania and lapses of judgment, he's still a sharp cop, and his courage is beyond dispute.
I especially love his interactions with Natalie Teeger, who is wonderfully played by Ms. Traylor Howard. The two of them don't sizzle together, as that's not the nature of their relationship. I love seeing them interact, though.
I especially love the scene shown below. "This is how I stand." "This is how I dress." (Okay, the joke makes more sense in the context of that particular episode.)
