I always like getting a little glimpse into the goings-on behind the scenes of Mythbusters. We're all familiar with the main cast, of course--Adam, Jamie, Tory, Kari, Grant and the much-missed Scottie. I love the banter between them and the hints of personal camaraderie. I like it even more when we get to see some of the valiant heroes who help make the show happen.
Back in the first season, for example, there was Mythtern Christine Chamberlain. More recently, we've seen a little bit of Mythtern Jess Nelson. I first saw here on the Mega Movie Myths 2 Hour Special DVD, though I know that she's made other previous appearances. (Confession time, folks. I love the show, but I don't always watch it attentively. I'm usually doing all sorts of computer work and household errands when it's on, so I don't always catch these brief appearances and details.)

BTW, I absolutely love the term "Mythtern." Very clever. I also love how they named their crash test dummy "Buster." These guys have a sense of humor.
Her Myspace page says that she recently finished her mechanical engineering degree. I can think of no better way to refine one's craft than by serving with the MythBusters. I know that I refined a lot of my own skills by puttering around in our laboratory machine shop back in grad school. You can learn a lot just by being forced to quickly build something, being forced to rely on one's ingenuity. The MythBusters have shown that time and again.
