On the 'net, I frequently see people extolling Kristen Kruek's version of Lana Lang, as well as Ms. Kruek's exotic beauty. In my opinion though, I think that Ms. Haiduk made for a better Lana, and not just because she had the right redheaded look. |

(BTW, she only turned redhead for that show, and it looked really nice on her. I think that all the other live-action depictions of Lana have fallen short in that regard.) |

Ms. Haiduk's Superboy series was geared toward a younger audience than today's Smallville , and the storylines reflect that (as do the production values!). Nevertheless, it was pretty good on its own merits. I just wish that I had been able to watch it more regularly when it was on the air. |

Somehow I always preferred Lana Lang to Lois Lane. Perhaps it's because Lana's character was more innocent and less caustic. Perhaps it's also because she simply represented simpler, more innocent times. When Lana followed Clark to Metropolis in the comic books, I welcomed her arrival and her involvement with Clark. . |
